Mwenye let out a light groan as she unhitched herself from her wagon and stretched. They'd been walking longer than usual this time around. She turned her head slightly, hearing murmuring from some of her family, and made her way over to see what they were talking about.
"Ponyvilles Hearts and Hooves Blind Date event? Who's gonna sign up for that?" The voice was met by some laughter, and a few of the others contemplating it. "How about you, Mwenye? You can finally get out and talk to ponies without reading their futures. I'm sure you'd have fun."
It was true that Mwenye had avoided ponies outside of her immediate friends and work. Maybe this was exactly what she needed. She nodded, and asked for Big Top to help her sign up, a smile on her face, ready to meet some new ponies.
Mwenye had just finished up telling the fortune of a couple who had come to the carnival on a date. The fifth one today. As she cleaned up, she looked toward the two and pulled up two charms, two matching halves of one full heart. "Belief is the strongest magic in Equestria. Believe hard enough, and reality makes it so. These charms. They will keep you two from drifting apart, as long as you believe." Mwenye dangled the charms for a few moments as the two talked it over before they ultimately bought them and scampered off, happy.
Mwenye smiled, scooping the bits into her bag and chuckling. She flipped the sign on the outside of the tent to closed, and quickly got her mothers old outfit off, hanging it carefully in the back of her tent. She stepped out of the tent and waited, smelling the usual smells of the carnival. The scent of several food stands hit her instantly as she remembered she hadn't taken a break to eat with the rush of customers.
However, she had promised to meet her date here. Right outside of the fortune tellers tent. It made things easier for her, since she didn't know what to look for. They knew her name and that she was a Zebra, she hoped that would be enough for him to find her... And she hoped their first stop would be one of the many food stands.
