Dewdrop Dazzle hadn't signed up for this.
Drawing a Wonderbolt's name out of a drawing of hundreds of ponies- it was like winning the love-lottery. But this wasn't just any Wonderbolt, either. This was Soarin', The Soarin', one of the most famous and best looking Wonderbolt stallions in the force today. And she was... well, in comparison, a nobody! Nobody that he would have ever heard of, anyway! She had signed up, thinking that she had always wanted to have a romance like one of those in stories, but... this was a bit more than she had asked for. This was terrifying!
And yet she was here, outside the Canterlot restaurant, named Seas and Skies for its oceanic theme, and here she was, Dressed nicely in an expensive little black dress and waiting for her date. Nervously. Soarin' of the Wonderbolts. Glancing in the reflection of a window, the mare magicked a comb out of of her purse and smoothed her mane a bit. She was exactly fifteen minutes early, so there was no excuse to look even a little bit shoddy.
Oh but... was it a good idea to wait so obviously? Maybe stallions didn't like that. Maybe it was wiser to play hard-to-get? Biting her lip, Dewdrop tucked the comb back in her purse and glanced around. Was there somewhere she could sit and watch, close enough to see when he arrived, but not-so-obviously waiting for him? There didn't seem to be anywhere. Silently, Dewdrop cursed Canterlot for its lack of benches on this street. It was much easier to look nonchalant when you were sitting.
