Springbud yawned, flopped on her back on the wet dirt, and let her legs get a little longer. That was what legs did when they were for walking for a long time, getting pressed step after step; they had to get longer again! While they were doing that, and it felt so wondrous, she looked up at the Moon, and it was a happy moon indeed! She knew, of course, that the Moon was happy because it was clear and there were no clouds at all. Clouds were nice, of course, but they crowded the Moon sometimes, and the Moon liked its friends smaller but shinier: the stars, of course! That was how the Moon was. "Hi Moon!" She waved and stretched, the wet road soaking into her back and through her coat, then let her legs down. She listened for a while. The Moon was very far away, so it needed time to hear her and then talk back. It never did, but of course, that was because the Moon was shy. She gave it another wave, rolled onto her hooves, stood, and began to walk again.
By now, of course, she would have found someplace soft to sleep, but she was so close! In front of her, just a little more away, were the lights of Ponyville! She looked to months of walking behind her in the horizon the other way, and then began a nice canter. "When you're on the go, don't forget about what you know ~ ♫ Don't forget to tie your bow and don't forget how to row ~ ♫ If there's mud below, it's cool don'cha know, and if the wind blows, it's telling where to go ~ So go go go go go ~ ~ ♫" Now that she thought about it, the wind was going, but it was going towards Ponyville, thank goodness. If it was going the other way, she would have been quite confused indeed! And so she continued ... until she caught the most intriguing scent. It was very sweet, and indeed she thought it must have been the smell of apple blossoms. And so, she looked to the dark near Ponyville and wandered off.
Two hours later, she made it to Ponyville, the Moon still perched high in the night sky, her bags freshly stuffed with apples, to say little of her tummy. She wandered for a few moments, looking at the houses and wondering what the few voices behind lit curtains were saying, but it occurred to her that she had done quite far enough, and she needed to sleep so she could meet all the ponies in the morning! So she searched, and near a very large, multi-floor building that looked very important, she found a house with a small tower to catch water (she knew it because she had one at home), and around it was a big, tall patch of unmowed grass. Without a thought, she cantered to the tank, opened the valve and filled the last of the room in her tummy with water, and after closing it, eased flat onto the grass, her chin on the soft, dark blades, her body in the shade of the Moon. She smacked her lips and closed her eyes. "Night night, nice grass and new town ~ ♫"
