Okay! So this is a project I've been working on for some time now, off and on, in what little spare time I can get in between diabolical plans, mischievous schemes, wicked capers, and my pilates class. But finally, I'm ready to unveil my creation!
It started when I noticed a bunch of folks out here using "streaming" to play a "video games" with these others. Now, I do not know what a "video games" is, nor do I care, but there was a lot of attention going around that wasn't on me, and you know I cannot abide something like that. But on the other hand, it seemed like an awful lot of work to play a video games for the amusement of common rabble such as yourselves.
Which is why I made LP Bot to do it for me!
Here she is!
Now, LP Bot (or LPB 2600, or just "Elpie" for short) has been programmed to play games in the most enjoyable and entertaining manner. I hope you'll all have a lot of fun with her and leave plenty of offerings!
However! ... her design is still kind of flawed. She's not the most well versed in things like in-depth moral discernment, or optimizing outcomes, or "emotions" and "friendship".
This latter thing, being that Friendship is Magic, is especially troubling to me. Because magic is power, and I want even mymurderbots LET'S PLAY BOTS to be as powerful as possible.
So! I've decided for her first outing, LP Bot is going to play a game that, with your help and input, will teach her everything she needs to know about making friends, finding compassion, and doing whatever you can to help the world become a better place. I think you already know what game is perfect for something like that.
That's right—she's going to play Fallout 3!
LP Bot's first stream is going to be tomorrow, whenever I get her up and running for her first session. From there, we'll see how things go! If folks enjoy Elpie's company after this first run, I'd be happy to find a regular schedule for you all to help her acclimate to this miracle that is sentient life.
Just be good, folks, okay? She's still pretty impressionable.
