Melanite awoke, stretching and heading straight out of her apartment. She stretched her legs, shaking out the sleep and hopping a few times to get her blood flowing. Putting on a pair of headphones, she took a deep, calming breath and took off at a sprint down the road. This street was never busy at this time. Ponies had yet to start clearing out of the market, but they would be soon. When she reached the busy part of the square, she took her jog up against the wall, running and being careful to not kick windows as she ran. Once she cleared the crowd, she landed on the ground again, continuing her run. The sun was starting to reach the tops of the trees. She cursed herself silently for being slower today than she had been yesterday. She shook away the thought and kept moving, she was close to the edge of town, and she banked left, following the road that led around town. As she started to grow tired, she slowed down and sniffed, skidding to a stop. She'd never paid enough attention in this spot to know the shops nearby, and today she figured it was a bad idea. She smelled coffee. And FRESH Pastries. AT Sunset. That wasn't normal. She shook the headphones from her head and walked toward the small cafe. She was greeted friendly enough by the pony at the counter and ordered herself an apple fritter and a Chai Tea. Luckily, she didn't have to settle for coffee! As she partook in her sweet breakfast, she glanced about, slowly chewing as she took in her surroundings, and any other ponies that had been in the Sunset Bakery tonight. |
