At the moment, High Winds found herself standing atop a batch of clouds in Ponyville Or rather, right on the outskirts and quite a few feet above the bustling town that always seemed to be the hubbub of numerous activity, monsters, and the occasional pony freakout. The wind was currently moving at a gentle breeze, while Celestia's sun was shining brightly. Perfect time for her to try some work out. The mare was lacking her usual work attire but did keep her goggles strapped firmly over her forehead, taking a couple breaths as she prepared herself to unleash a new, untested trick, which at the moment was being dubbed the "Spiral Slingshot Shooting Star".
The trick involved her gathering enough clouds in the area and spinning them together from the inside, using the pull from that to help her spin around and shoot out like almost like a bullet. She was still working on perfecting it and building off it, and she preferred to test it out in an open where there wouldn't be many risks. She'd remembered seeing the large amount of space away from the town overhead from some of her previous visits and flights over Ponyville and it seemed liked a perfect little training area. As she looked over the clouds in front, going over them to make sure she'd have enough to perform the first part successfully. As she finished, she pulled the goggles down over her eyes and made sure they fit firmly over them so they wouldn't potentially come off midflight. When she was ready she spread her wings, then mentally counted to three before taking off.
Things started off pretty good. Windy managed to gather up several clouds together, and quickly started packing them all up until they began to get bigger. She soon had it so that she was forming the whole thing around her, spinning faster and faster as she made sure that they were all forming together and gradually causing the outside to start forming a spiral outside. After another minute, she knew to make her move and fly toward the bottom, using the bounce from it to ricochet back up and out of it. She quickly flew down and started pushing toward the end of the cloud mass, then when she felt she couldn't push it any further quickly turned around with the additional force to fly straight up towards the open end.
Everything was going according to plan. So wouldn't you know it, it was at that point that fate intervened and decided to muck things up a little. Underneath the lenses her eyes went wide as the last thing she expected to see came up in her view. 'Oh no.' A lone duck was currently flying directly overhead above the top of her "cloud vortex" and at the speed she was going she'd strike it head on. She did her best to pull away from it and fly to the side, but it still wasn't enough, causing it to strike her side and make her lost her lose her altitude, taking the fowl with her as the both of them started to fall towards the earth below. "GET OUT OF HERE ALREADY YOU STUPID DUCK!"
Windy was ultimately able to get the bird away from her, but by this point it wasn't enough to try and get herself upright before she crash-landed. At this point, she just did her best to hover a bit as she fell to break her fall, moving slightly upward as she neared the ground before she started falling again, crashing right next to a rock, upside down head first and sprawled out over. Thankfully that last bit at the end managed to save her from any serious injury, though the tumble had left her a bit dazed. "....Did anypony.... get the number... of that blimp?" She reached a hoof up to her goggles, and after a few failed attempts due to lightly smacking herself in the face instead, finally succeeded and lifted them down to around her neck. As she started to retake her surroundings in, she moved her neck up and glanced toward the direction of Ponyville, then up to the sky as she noticed that the clouds she'd gathered were starting to dissipate. "That could have gone better."
