Trixie wondered if this was the kind of feeling pegasi had while flying. Well, not the overwhelming fear, but the rush of the wind on her fur (and the chilling breeze it was creating), the adreneline. Of course they would be in complete control, not like her flailing her arms while falling like a rock. Well, at least Soarin was close enough to be able to come and help her before too long. But should the worst happen and she kept falling, she wondered...
Concentrating on her magic, she focused on levitation. She wasn't sure if she would be able to do do it to herself, but it was worth a shot. At the very least she might be able to slow herself down. A slight glow soon enveloped her, but she found her concentration broken as she found herself in the forelegs of Soarin. Well, it seemed that he was good for something. He was turning out to be a rather handy assistant today. Of course she would have found a way to save herself, but she was not going to argue about the rescue.
Dropping back onto the solid floor, which Trixie had never appreciated as much before, she turned to face Soarin'.
"Trixie would appreciate that you not mention to others what just happened."
Dignity saved for now, she tried to figure out what went wrong. The magic didn't seem off to her; the theory shouldn't have been that hard. And she had the raw talent of course so that couldn't have been the reason. Was it confidence? Thinking back, she did speak in first person; she only did that when she was scared out of her persona. So it was a confidence issue that was blocking her. To be fair, it was natural to be scared of being hundred of feet up in the air. All she needed was to do something to get over that fear, or give her some kind of encouragement that surpassed her fear. Adreneline of a near death epxerience seemed to be working rather well.
"Anyway, Trixie will not allow that slipup to happen again. Now excuse me."
This time, without much hesitance, Trixie's horn began glowing as she went out the window once again. Thinking back to that levitation trick she was trying to do while falling, she hoped a similar effect might improve the effect of solidifying the cloud, which was quickly approaching her. With a determined gaze, she focused one last bit of magical energy as her forelegs began to land...on a solid spot of cloud. Her hindlegs soon followed, and she found herself standing on a cloud.
"See, the Great and Powerful Trixie always prevails in the end."
