Not being as magically inclined as the other two unicorns, Blueblood was not particularly aware of what it was they were getting on about in regards to this whole “feeling old but recently cast” thing. Magic was magic, wasn’t it? Then again, even he had to admit that when he felt his aunts used magic, there was always a sense about it that made it seem different from other unicorns. Still, he would have to trust them on this whole business. As for their plan, however, that was a different story.
On the one hoof, if he stayed to investigate the town and the magic, he’d have to deal with these commoners more. That wasn’t a particularly wonderful option to him. But, if he went to either of the other two locations, he’d have to deal with being outdoors. Also not appealing. So the question, then, was would he rather deal with the outdoor hiking or would he deal with the apparently legally incompetent commoners…
”I will volunteer to take a look at this place with the heart,” he announced.
”As royal surveyor, I am allowed to take the initiative to investigate any new landmarks and to make sure they are properly marked and accounted for. This, obviously, is not appropriate protocol. I am sure I can secure more information about the heart both in town and in the field without too much trouble.”
Yeah, he’d rather deal with the outdoors. Plus, if this was some super special place, he could get some serious credit “officially” marking it. He still would go with Twilight to the eagle statue since it was on the way, but then he would split off there to look. Even if it was a little bit off trail. Besides, he would get a break from these two, and that was worthwhile enough.
