Well, I love our site and I bet you do too. And I think its great that we HAVE a sort of means for establishing things about our unique MLP world, including its species and their abilities and histories. Unfortunately, the current process is a bit slow and uncertain. WHEN is something officially canon? Has everyone had a chance to have their say? Where is the line?
So I propose a Canon Approval Process. This idea, as I conceive it, would begin with someone posting their write up for board canon here in the Site Suggestion forum, where people can discuss it and write their approval (or objections) to the proposal. I believe it should remain in place for no less than than two weeks, to give everyone a reasonable chance to express their opinions on it. It can remain there longer, if the original author desires.
After two weeks, a final draft of the proposal, written by the original author, is submitted, hopefully with some suggestions/corrections/alterations taken from its time in the suggestion box but perhaps not, and is posted in a forum we would call 'The Voting Box' Here, a simple yes or no poll would be in place, and if the yays outnumber the neighs by a predetermined time (maybe a length of time, like a week or two) or once a predetermined number of votes has been reached over all- the write up becomes official canon, (barring an executive Veto from Whammy)
