||| SYNET SINNETSON |||
#Name; Synet Sinnetson
#Age Group ; Young Adult
#Gender ; Male
#Species; Caribou
#Rune Mark ;
#Occupation ; Fortune Teller and Researcher
#Powers and Abilities ; Synet has the magical ability of fortune telling, allowing him to see the future, albeit through a haze of symbols and images with faint meanings.
#Physique ; Synet is quite gangly for a caribou. He's of moderate height, but is very skinny. His antlers are also small.
#Mane and fur color and style ; Synet has brown fur, and a short layered mane of the same color. He has a patch of black on the tip of his ears, and white patches on his chest and tail.
#Eye color ; Blue
#Other appearance details (optional) ; Synet wears a blue scarf around his neck at all times, as well as a pair of metal tags on his antler with runes on them, and a pair of reading glasses.
#Personality ;
Synet is a quirky little fellow. He chatters on and on about things, even if nobody in particular is listening. It's a way of sorting his thoughts. If you think about something, and it seems smart, and you say it out loud, you might realize it's stupid. That's the way Synet sees it. So, on he goes, gabbing about every little thing that pops into his mind.
Knowledge is this 'bou's cup of tea. While most caribou have stocky builds, Synet was left as a bit of a runt. So, he found intellect and knowledge to make up for his lack of size. Anything and everything you need and don't need to know, Synet probably knows. He dabbles in many sciences, and maths, and even history! Synet loves the pursuit of knowledge: something he's picked up from his father.
One thing his father taught him was that no risk was too great for the wealth of knowledge. His father was known for getting himself into all kinds of trouble for this, and Synet's no different. He took his father's words to heart and lets nothing get in the way of what he desires to know. Although he does this, he's a bit more cautious than his father was. Breaking the rules has consequences, and as great as the knowledge may seem at the time, future repercussions might give Synet doubt in his pursuit.
Synet, however versed he is, is not good with many social situations. He's not shy. Far from it. Synet loves meeting people. Synet's problem comes from not understanding social protocols. When someone is supposed to say certain things, what things set someone off, what things should never be spoken of, and when someone is showing any kind of romantic interest.
Synet and romance are an interesting pair. Synet has absolutely no understanding of the concept, and no ability in the field. Considering his broken system of protocols, Synet doesn't come across many romantic interests, and hasn't pursued into any relationships. He's more fascinated by it, than infatuated with it. Since this is something Synet knows literally nothing about, it itches him to know how he'd react to such a thing. His thirst for knowledge and the matters of the heart may be related, but Synet has a great chance of growing old alone in that sense.
Synet's anger isn't very direct. When someone makes him mad, he'll bottle it up, and get back at them in a different way. Yelling and fighting was for brutes. If he was to get even, he'd do it intellectually. Perhaps with a prank.
#History ;
In the dead of night, in the pure white light, the mind was formed.
Synet was born and raised in Trottheim. His childhood was not an easy one. When he was born, it was clear soon enough that he was a runt. Smaller and frailer than most, the harsh cold of Trottheim was unforgiving to the young Synet. His father and mother chose to keep him sheltered and safe, at least until he was old enough to where he wasn't in danger.
The mind was empty. The mind yearned. The mind was to be filled.
Through Synet's childhood, he was alone. Since he was to stay inside, he didn't have many options for companionship. His parents were quite busy in their own affairs, so that left him without anything but himself. Synet chose to fill the void of his days with something better than nothing. Synet read. His father had a large collection of historical books and documents, so Synet read. His mother went on expeditions regularly, so every time she came back, she'd bring him one book from wherever she had been. Synet devoted himself to his reading.
The mind blossomed. But the body was cold. The mind needed foreign stimulation.
The day came when his parents thought him old enough to be able to go outside and withstand the cold on his own. His mother gave him a scarf, which he kept for the rest of his life, and his father gave him a speech about the pursuit of knowledge and how to keep an open mind. With that, Synet wandered out into Trottheim as prepubescent child.
The mind was curious. The heart was drawn in. The future was revealed.
Synet, through his many "adventures" in the foreign world that was Trottheim, came across the fortune teller. His parents had speculated about his mark, but it wasn't until this meeting that Synet knew he had the magic to see the future. The fortune teller took him on as an apprentice, and helped him learn the truths and mysteries of the future. Though it was not a precise study, Synet was thankful for everything the old soul had provided.
The mind and body grew. The years passed. The future was uncertain.
Synet Sinnetson grew into an adult. He carried on with the pursuit of knowledge, and matched it with his images of the future. Synet's life was complete in his eyes. But it wasn't.
The way was open. The mind set forth. The mind was not full.
Synet was shocked for many reasons when he was among the ones chosen for an expedition. But, Synet didn't argue. His thirst for knowledge was great, so he took part with great enthusiasm. Although he wasn't the strongest, Synet hoped that his intellect would be of help in the coming days.
The mind is not full. The future is undecided. What will come?

#How did you find us? ; I paid a gypsy to steal a scroll from a monk, who got it from a temple, that was created by aliens, that Moffat thought up in a hairbrained scheme for Doctor Who, that fans complained about, that trolls laughed at, that Faust had in a dream.

Journal Entry #1204
Synet Sinnetson
My thoughts are abuzz. Busy little bees. Though, bees don't actually buzz. Missing the point. Thoughts are active. Active with wonder. Wonder what shall be seen. All senses must be applied. Wonder what shall be experienced.
Yes, better word. Experienced. Experience was the best source of knowledge. Therefore, I must experience. Must gain knowledge. Cup never full. Cup always needs more. Bottomless cup... Hm... Wonder if such a thing exists. How peculiar. Would it have an endless beverage, or simply be a void of nothingness? Perhaps unicorns would know.
Unicorns... Pony magic, different than caribou magic. Much different. Fascinating. Must know more. Ask questions. Experience.
I wonder what it's like to cast a spell. Must ask. When experience is unavailable, ask questions. Read. Investigate. Empty knowledge into cup. Cup learns more... Cup metaphor becoming tedious. Much easier to refer to myself and my mind. I have no time for tedious metaphors.
Perhaps if it was in the form of a joke... New experiences. Pony jokes. Fascinating... Whole new world of knowledge. More to be seen. More to be learned. More to experience. More...
I must ponder this.
