Again, super sorry about the wait!
If Soarin' had knocked her down and trampled her, he could not have caused her more pain than he did the moment he looked her in the eyes and asked why, Why he couldn't have the one thing that he really wanted. Everything went swimmy for a moment as her eyes filled with tears, and she hardly even noticed when Soarin' really did knock her down, though she dimly recognized that the ship had caused it.
It didn't matter, she was already in agony.
Why couldn't he have just this one thing?
The Wonderbolt had thought she was here to help him. That she (it sounded ridiculous, really) was here to rescue him. That she could save him. All she'd done was cause him pain. She'd ruined the one thing he really wanted. She could have left him to his happy dreams. Dimly, she was aware of being helped to her feet again. The one thing he really wanted. It was like a spear of guilt.
Fleetfoot raised her head and looked at Soarin with hopeless, dull grey eyes.
It isnt too late~ a thought spoke in her mind. You could just quietly disappear, and he would forget, in time. He could dream peacefully, contentedly. It would be the kindest thing you...I... could do for him... It was her own voice, or ... was it? Fleet shook her head hard, confused. She didn't usually think like this. Soarin' was saying something.
"The one thing I really..." No, that wasn't it. It didn't match his lips. ..."See what's going on out there." That was more like it. Fleet nodded and stumbled after him as best she could. Deal with the inner crisis later! There were bigger problems going on right now!
