Swift had watched how Azure was painting the wall and had seemed to have gotten the hang of what she was doing. She moved so that she was working a safe distance to avoid any involutary wing-hits as she painted then grinned as she started humming along to the song on the radio.
She looked across at Azure and smiled as she finished her bit of the wall. She smiled as she wiped a little sweat from her forehead with her hoof, frowning as she realized there was some paint on her hoof and now some on her forehead. She sighed as she landed and put the paint brush back on top of the paint can. "I'm definitely thinking that I should have looked before I did that. I".
Azure finished his wall mere moments after Swift. The radio continued to play its pleasant upbeat music as they went about painting. Realizing they might be able to dry the walls faster by fanning the walls with their wings, Azure contemplates on drying the walls himself so they could place the furniture and objects back to where they were instead of waiting overnight. However, something more entertaining had caught his eye as it always seems to be able to do.
Swift now had light blue paint on her forehead and hoof as she stood, landed on the tiled floor. Azure couldn't help but to laugh merrily, almost brushing himself with the paint in his momentary joy. A light bulb goes off in his head causing him to stop. Landing beside Swift, he takes the brush and paints the tip of Swift's nose, careful of her nostrils. The mere sight of it causes him to giggle as he wonders if he's started something now. However, on a side note, she did look rather cute with the newly added color. Those colors seemed to compliment each other quite lovely.
Perhaps, then again, it wouldn'tve provided such a laugh had you done so. Besides, it's not all bad, you look great with the new color. I'm not even sure I can rock that color like you can Swifty. I think I'd be more of a yellow or white color. White being too generic....so yea, I think yellow. Azure gives Swift am innocent smile, one worthy enough to compare to a mischievous foal. He couldn't resist keeping the brush away from Swift at that opportune time, and found it to be completely worth it all.
Swift frowned as Azure painted the tip of her nose. She suspected that this was not going to end cleanly but she really didn't care at that point. "Oh, so you think that I'm going to let this go do you?". She picked up her paintbrush and painted the tip of his nose before stepping back a step and assuming a defensive stance with the brush. "It is so on!".
Somewhere across Ponyville, a white furred mare looked around as if she had sensed a disturbance in the ether.
Azure laughed in whole as his nose now became a light blue color. It felt odd, yet with high spirits and light moods, he thought he'd let it go. Until Swift got down into a defensive stance with a paintbrush, declaring war from the sounds of it. Unable to help himself, he slams his hoof on the bottom of his brush that he had just set down, popping it into the air. Catching it with his opposite hoof, he stands in a fencing pose, attempting his best to stay in character and not burst at the seams with laughter.
By all means my Swift, tis a war of paint you want, tis a war of paint you shall receive. I must warn you however, my paintbrush skills are quite the spectacle. I would not blame thee if thee became awestruck by moi paintbrush as it wipes its color all over thee pink coat. Azure couldn't say anymore without losing his semi-straight face. In the meantime however, it had swayed his very momentary aggressiveness into playfulness. Azure, you're off shift, relax, paintbrushes aren't swords or spears. Gee.....Swift is adorable as can be right now~
Unknowingly, Azure had been twirling his paintbrush expertly the entire time. Luckily, there were no excess in paint on the brush or there would be tiny specks flying everywhere. Not that there weren't here in a few moments, but that was left to be seen. Azure hops forward sticking the brush out towards Swift, managing to brush the tips of her hooves before stepping back, giggling.
Swift was finding making herself look vaguely serious difficult as she looked down at her hooves then looked up at Azure. "Oh, it's going to be like that is it?". She grinned as she fought off a giggle, then struck low, slashing a line of light blue paint on his chest.
She moved around a little as she ducked in and out, trying to paint more bits of Azure whilst taking a few patches of paint herself then, upon seeing the mess she was making lost the battle with her inner giggler and burst out laughing. "Can I suggest we call a truce since I think we're pretty much tied as to how well-painted we are".
Before Azure agrees to anything, he drops his brush, rushing forward in a big glomping embrace to Swift, causing them to both fall to the floor. In a giggling fit, Azure is now more covered in paint than he could ever imagine. It almost looked like that shade of blue was his second fur color. Speaking of fur, his fur seemed to stick out in random spots and places that seemed like he got in a fight with a tree upon crash landing.
Finally subduing his giggling fit, he takes a breath, still holding Swift while both are in a tangled painted mess on the floor. Yea...ok....whew, yea we can call it quits for now. Oh man~ The giggles briefly return to Azure, thinking about how ridiculously fun this was becoming. If they weren't careful, Azure could see them using their entire source of paint on each other to carry out a full blown war....whiiiiiich might end up redecorating the house in a fashion of which they hadn't intended on doing, thus spending more bits on future paint.
Azure leans forward, kissing Swift on the lips ever so sweetly. Least he hadn't targeted her lips with paint, he wasn't sure how paint tasted and quite frankly, didn't think it was beneficial to life expectancy, rather the opposite. Regardless, the color still looked wonderful on her, and could actually see her in that color of a dress one day. He wouldn't push that issue however, that was left for her to decide. Letting himself part from her lips, he boops Swift's nose with his hoof ever so lightly. Want some help up?
Swift smiled as she accepted Azure's offer and started to get up. She frowned as she realised that they were stuck together in places thanks to the paint. "I guess that we should have expected this". She grinned as she looked Azure in the eyes as she pulled away from him with a slightly disquieting noise.
She grinned as she looked at Azure then herself. "I think we should probably finish painting the walls since it's going to take a lot of showering to get all this off us and I guess we could get it over and done with first. Not that paint fights aren't fun but I was not expecting it to get so messy".
Azure didn't bat an eye to the two of them separating from each other, the paint casing their fur to intertwine and become glued together. However, he wished to have hugged Swift, unsure if she had felt any pain or not, relents from doing so to keep the two from having to separate once more. Aye, I hear that. I'm looking forward to that shower though. I have a feeling this paint is going to become bothersome. Azure takes a hoof, running it down his other foreleg, the paint wet however already drying.
Ah, oh well. Twas well worth the hug though so I won't complain.Well, I guess there's one more wall left. Shall we finish it together? Azure gives Swift her brush before popping the top off the second can. This time however, instead of the top hitting Azure in the already paint stricken face, Azure stumbles from the unexpected ease of this top being popped and falls onto the floor, the previous paint can flying up into the air landing on his head. What......how.....why? Gah, my luck, where's a camera when we need one.
Azure raises the paint can to where he can see Swift, giving a "Again?" look to Swift, however is unable to refrain from giving a casual chuckle and smile. Suppose I'ma have to scrub extra hard tonight. Gee, this would make great future stories. Azure looks about the room before taking off the paint can, taking his brush, and beginning on the last wall.
Swift had barely managed to stop herself from guffawing as Azure's string of paint related bad luck continued. She moved to the wall after taking note of how long they had been painting before the paint war begun since she had heard some of her co-workers had a pool going on how long it would take for organized painting to devolve into a paint fight or making out session. She had been about to argue the last possibility until she realized it was no entirely impossible.
She looked across at Azure as she flew closer to the floor and grinned at how cute he looked in multiple shades of blue and with his fur stuck out in places at crazy angles. The grin was wiped off her face as her rump hit the ground and she felt a uncomfortably familiar sticky sensation around her plot. She stood up and groaned as she realized she had sat on the lid of one of the paint pots and it had stuck to her backside. "Oh, for crying out bucking loud". She finally started laughing. "It's going to be one of those days".
She looked over at Azure as she pondered the state the pair of them was in. "I think I may have a problem here".
Azure lost it, laughing at how terrible their luck was becoming and how quickly the environment around them was becoming filled with the sky blue color of the paint, but not the walls. Somehow inside of himself, Azure didn't mind if this project was to take awhile, he was having fun, and spending it with one who loved him, seemingly having just as much fun and struggle as he. He couldn't quit looking into her eyes, viewing the many different emotions that coursed through them as to him, she seemed to ponder how her luck got her into this current sticky situation.
This is normally where a bit of magic helps. Though I'm going to have to ask you to hold onto me~. Azure wastes no time, ducking up under Swift then standing back up, easily lifting her off of the ground. He hears a slight squee and laughs in full merriment. Paint had managed to displace itself on the bottom of Azure's hooves, causing him to track paint with every step. Seems a shower was most definitely going to be in order before long, but for now, this lid needed to come off.
Walking into the bathroom, he places Swift inside the shower. Soon after the water turns on from the faucet until it reaches a nice warm temperature. Turning the shower head to beat down upon Swift's flank, he courses his hoof through her fur, figuring out he had paint sticking to it as well. Well then, seems I'm in quiet the predicament myself. With a chuckle, he continues rubbing around the edges of the lid on Swift's flank. I didn't want to rip this straight off of you, seems like that might hurt just a bit. So the warm water should help with easing this off of you~. At this point, Azure's front half had become drenched, determined to get the lid off.
After a few minutes of intense scrubbing and light pulling of the lid, it seemed to be ready to be pulled off. I'll give the assistant this, she knew good paint when she saw it, I've never seen paint dry this quick and keep it's quality. Alright on three. One, two, three! Azure gave a steady pull and to his surprise, it gave easily. However, with its surprise came the tumble. Azure fell backwards, throwing the lid out to the side in the bathroom as he fell back in the shower, landing on his rump. With a sheepish smile, he looked back up to Swift through his parted soaked mane. I got it~
Swift was trying desperately not to laugh as she looked at Azure sitting on the floor. "I guess you did. We are so clumsy at the moment that if we keep up with this we could end up in hospital". She helped Azure up and smiled as she moved aside so that he was under the water as well.
She grinned as she let the water work on her flank, more worried about that than the massive amounts of pain over the rest of her body. She could feel the paint being slowly washed off her as she luxuriated, her wings unfurling to get at her sides and soak them. "At least we can spend some time doing this and just relaxing".
Aye, I can definitely relax here, beats having to get my flank handed to me by a bunch of paint cans. Azure can't help but to laugh at that. Too many a time he had fallen victim to the tyrant paint can. Now as he stood in the shower he had to admit this shaming defeat and lick his wounds....or....rather let the shower clean them. Besides, he got to shower once more with his love and embrace his gaze with Swift's beautiful wings.
Feeling a tug of affection grasp him, he leans forward, taking a feather at a time from their ruffled state and began to preen them. Gently and carefully he did so however, seeing as how the paint would cause terrible pain should he be too rough with it. Some feathers required the water to soak through the paint for awhile before they could be parted with ease, others were more fortunate. Regardless though, he enjoyed preening Swift. He rarely did so with his wings seeing how much he constantly used to use them, being overly aggressive and abusive. Now that his life had taken a turn towards the calmer life, perhaps preening more often would be suitable.
You do an exceptionally good job at preening Swift....much better than I ever did~. Azure slightly blushed with what he said, welcoming the water that streamed down his scarred, painted face. The bathroom seemed to begin to become clouded with steam, causing most everything to become slightly hidden or obscured. Not Swift however, she seemed to stick out in a radiant way. With a smile, Azure nuzzled into her wing up to her side lovingly. I love you Swift~. Azure closed his eyes as he rested there, a rest that felt like a dozen days worth of good sleep on a cloud. Only, he wasn't asleep, and wasn't alone on a cloud. He'd never be alone, not with Swift there for him. With a happy content sigh, he relaxes into the wing, allowing the water to do as it pleased with his body.
Swift smiled as Azure preened her, then grinned at his complement. She had honed her preening skills when she was at constant risk of having to get out of a area as fast as her wings could carry her. At times like that, having bad wing care was a really bad idea.
She smiled as she checked the leather necklace with Azure's feather. Thankfully it had no paint on it since she had gotten so used to wearing it that it hadn't occured to her that she was wearing it while she was painting.
Azure's comment about loving her made her squee before she grinned. "I love you too, with all my heart".
Azure nuzzled the sensitive spot between her wing and body where the bone connected. Quickly afterwards, he gives the bone a light nibble before standing up once more, taking the sponge to clean his face. He thought he'd be slightly teasing to her before getting ready to bathe himself. He knew he'd be in for it later, but how he was unsure. She could take it the fun way and they'd enjoy their shower a little while longer, or she'd end up furthering his struggle with the paint. Either way, he was going to have a shower.
Her squee however could make him smile through the vigorous scrubbing he was giving his face. The paint stuck to him like glue that was resistant to water and fought against his strength. Does....this....crap...ever...come off!? Eventually however, it was no match for Azure, and after an eternity *in reality only five minutes* he had scrubbed every inch of paint free of his face and mane. When he looked back up to Swift, his mane had stuck up in every which way possible, the fur on his face spiked. What? Did I get it all?
Azure raised his head slowly, allowing the hot steamy water to caress him from the neck down. He hadn't realized how much he'd damaged his wings for so long now it caught him off guard. Silently he cursed himself for not paying attention to it earlier. All of his previous antics with breaking the sound barrier and flying abruptly, spiraling through windows, then of course the chandelier incident, he could tell his wings were beyond in need of some rest and mending. A massage as well around the muscles and tendons around his wings. A few small bones felt fractured, a couple of strained yet almost torn muscles, his feathers allover were slightly out of place or missing. It had been a rough series of flying lately.
The water felt amazing to him however, he became so lost in his shower he hadn't noticed Swift move any if she even had for that matter. The shower seemed to rain the heavens upon his wings as he placed two hooves up against the wall and hung his head, letting the water massage the tensions all over his wings away. They were about half spread out so Swift could be just as much in the shower as he and still be comfortable.

Swift had been enjoying Azure's wing-preening and smiled as she scrubbed the paint off his face and mane. She grinned at his question and checked over the places he had scrubbed. "You're clear of the paint".
She scrubbed her face and mane of the paint, glad as she felt clean again, then looked at Azure. She then turned around so that she could wash the paint off her rear, frowning as she looked at Azure and his frankly shocking wings. "I think the paint is coming off my back end, I guess that I've got time to do something about your wings".
She looked at his wing and grinned as she tutted before smiling. "I'm definitely going to have to do something about them".
