Cloud Twister sat in the stands of the Cloudosseum. It was completely empty. Not a soul was here. He hadn't seen it this empty ever. Last time he had been here was the young fliers competition. Of course he had only been watching, he had planned on entering but had forgotten to make a routine by the deadline for entering. He just didn't feel that anything he had made was good enough.

It was all so horrible. He wouldn't have been near good enough to even place anyways that Rainbow Pony had been amazing.He flew out into the middle of the Cloudosseum and looked about smiling. The place sure was huge, he could only imagine how many ponies could fit in here, how loud it would be for one in the middle. It must be electrifying. He smiled and flew around the edge of the Cloudosseum quickly, doing barrel rolls before spiraling up into the air and doing a few flips, pretending that he was being cheered on by tons of fans.

Of course, there were no people. No fans, not even a clean-up pony. He had snuck in to the place, despite the numerous 'do not enter' and 'authorized personnel only'. It had been way, way, way too tempting. It had even taken some work, distracting a guard away from his post. A few bits of fancy flying to stay away from some cameras. But it was totally worth it.

He circled a few more times, as fast as he could. Before stopping and panting and laughing. This was great he sorta wished he had entered, but...no he would've embarrassed himself. It was at this moment he thought he heard someone, he looked around wildly before simply yelling "Is somepony here? Civilians aren't allowed here without permission!" he was hoping to bluff himself out of this by acting like a guard. A great plan. Right?

Walking, it was the new thing for the mare it seemed. Her wing wasn’t totaled or anything, not that she had seen a doctor since she took time off… Spitfire was sure that all she needed was a little rest and some family time, in no time she would be ready to go. The morning was spent napping on fluffy clouds and eating treats that her mother had baked, every other younger pony than her in the family was at school or something, so she was left alone. Since she had returned home she felt her flying to almost nothing, maybe why she had these pains still was from all the flying, plus the minor crash at practice. Well in no time she was sure to be back in action, for now she would take it easy. Though taking time off as fun as it was, she loved her work. She loved her job and she loved her fast pace life. Of course like any pony mother, spitfire was bugged about when she was going to settle down finally, build a home, give her mother some little grandponies…the usual.

After escaping her mother, she went walking toward the cloudossum. Being a Wonderbolt she as granted access to the place at all times, no need to sneak past guards here. With a bit of a nod of the head, she was right into the place with no huss or fuss, they knew her face with her costume on or not. But as she strolled right into it, flapping her wings finally to get up in the air. She heard someone else flying around in here, Soarin’? Looking around, she saw a red pony, he was not a Wonderbolt. But he was acting all big and tough, oh so he was caught. It caused her to laugh a little as she finally came into view of him, flying up on to the stands to sit. ”I’m allowed in here but…are you?” she said with a smile. She wasn’t sure if this pony knew who she was, there was so tight blue suit on her body at the moment. Her mane was tame a little and down, she looked well…like a mare for once actually. ”I’m Spitfire ad you are?” she asked.

Huh, she almost looked familiar. But that must just be his imagination. He didn't know anypony with fur like that. The mare's coloring was striking to say the least. She was just so... fiery. The only place he had seen something so orange was that incident with the dragon, coincidentally he had learned that burnt feathers smelt just as bad as burnt hair during that incident. But it had all worked itself out in time.

Laughing? Why was she laughing? That didn't bode well for his plan. Perhaps it was the lack of uniform. He didn't know if the security here wore uniforms, maybe they never even went inside. That made sense, otherwise he would've been caught by now. Of course the mare approaching could be that security pony. Which made him feel pretty silly. He gulped down his nervousness and smiled confidently after she asked if he was allowed to be here. "Of course I am. I have a show in here tomorrow." he said with such confidence and conviction that anypony who didn't know better would probably show up tomorrow ready for a show, only to be let down when no pony showed up. Especially not a deep fiery red one.

He had a confidence about him for a mere moment before his jaw dropped. 'Did she just say Spitfire? The Spitfire?!'

[/i] he thought. There was no way she could be, right? No way. He looked over her again, then double took. The fiery mane, the orange fur. not to mention some striking eyes that he had just noticed how hadn't he noticed!?

He sighed deeply, realizing that she knew what he had just said was a complete lie. "I am...a complete idiot." he said placing his hooves over his face and groaning as he felt it suddenly feel like it was burning. He wished she would have just busted him, it would have been much less embarrassing. He peeked inbetween his hooves and then realized. He was in front of the Spitfire. Leader of The Wonderbolts. Best flier ever!!

He suddenly was excited, then back to embarrassed and worried. He was in front of the Spitfire while trespassing in the Cloudosseum. His face quickly gained a look of despair. Not to mention conflict. "Oh. my. gosh. Spitfire....I'm a huge fan and...I'm so so so so so sorry. I-I should probably leave, please don't call security." he said. 'Not that they would catch me' Cloud mused to himself. He even almost smiled. But reality ruined that. He had never been arrested before. Not for lack of trying perhaps, but still, he didn't want to ruin that. It was probably the only credible thing he had to his name other than passing flight school. He rustled up a sheepish smile towards Spitfire as his wings slowly but surely carried him down and back a bit. Betraying how nervous he was.[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]

The stallion was watching her over, picking out things about her even. She wasn’t sure; she was use to staring though. Maybe he was trying to place out the lack of uniform and how her hair just seemed so fire colored. But she just stood and waited for him to finish, it was obvious he had snuck in her. She knew the guards well enough to know he wasn’t one and ponies just weren’t allowed to waltz in here, it could be dangerous. Trying out tricks without some other pony to spot you: stupid.

Once his eyes seem to light him and a bit of a smile crept up on his face, she knew that he knew who she was. More like what she was, a Wonderbolt. Spitfire had learned it was better to just let the get it out and then she talked to them, ponies seems to have a bit of a river mouth around her. She only guessed it was the nerves working at them. It wasn’t every day you came face to face with any of the Wonderbolts or any pony you admired. ”No, no you can stay, it is no biggie” she shrugged with a sweet smile. ”Just understand that trying out tricks her alone is quite dangerous, especially since you are not fully trained in it” she ended after that. Yeah sure every Pegasus could fly but it took training and skill to get down the right moves, turns, flips, spins and all around tricks to do it processional and in a way no pony would get hurt.

Why yes she would flip from sweet to serious just like that but as a captain it was her job to keep her bolts safe, so safety was always a top topic between them. She could be a sweet mare and she could be a tough mare, she was never afraid to raise her voice and assert herself to protect others. ”Now tell me about this show of your’s” she giggled a bit and smiled at him, of course she was joking. ”Are you a Wonderbolt that I have not heard of? “ she chuckled and lifted herself up to sit on an awaiting cloud. Closer to him yes but without the trouble of flapping on a hurt wing to stay in the air. ”And what is your name?... because you are not an Idiot I’m sure” she smiled and looked toward at him once more. She was done being all tough and captain like to this stallion, that warning was enough to not have him sneaking in here doing this, she really did not see any need to report him.

He felt a bit shaky, a lot actually. This wasn't his idol. This was every pegasi's idol. Anyone who wanted to fly knew this mare. She was amazing!! He had been to one of the shows once, it was a blast. He couldn't imagine a better job. Of course he imagined it as all fun no work, a bit of practice when someone came up with a new move. Not that it mattered. He knew that even if he practiced all day, every day, he wasn't Wonderbolt material. They were so-!...and he just wasn't. He wasn't sure what it was, but he wasn't it.

He couldn't help but let a huge and goofy smile on his face when she said he could stay. He could stay here, talking with her? Maybe she just wanted to chill? Was there a surprise practice today!? He had chosen today specifically so no pony would bother him. Well, so he wouldn't bother anypony else was more accurate, he was the one trespassing after all.

He was even having a bit of a hard time flying because of how nervous he had become. His wings felt like they wanted to fasten to his sides. They nearly did when she scolded his recklessness "Er, sorry, I didn't mean to worry anyone. I'll be more careful next ti- I mean whenever I'm practicing." no he wouldn't. Maybe once or twice he would, just to show some respect for the best flier in Equestria, but recklessness was in his nature. He couldn't deny it anymore than his urge to fly or ability to walk on clouds.

He would have answered most ponies with a 'Ha! Me? Get hurt? It takes more than a rough fall to hurt me' or a 'I don't make mistakes, so no worries' but he was too nervous for snappy comebacks. As was made obvious by his ears being pinned down and his inability to make any eye contact or even look at the mare. His eyes were locked to the ground.

Though he glanced at her for a moment, dumbfounded by her joke. Not to mention embarrassed. As if he didn't already feel like the most idiotic pony in Cloudsdale, if not Equestria. "Please, you saw me, I'm not really Wonderbolts material." he said, with a bit of a real laugh. "And you'd be surprised, the rest of my weather team sure thinks so half the time." he said.

She was different than he had imagined. First of all, she was a bit intimidating. Not just in the 'better flyer than me on my best day ever' way either. He couldn't place it, but it was there for sure. He also hadn't expected the sarcasm. But mostly, he hadn't imagined being allowed to stay for longer than it took for her to blow his eardrums while telling him to get out. He had been expecting a 'what do you think you're doing on our practice arena?!' type greeting. "My name is Cloud Twister-" he said, mustering up some confidence.

"Weather pony extraordinaire and long range mail pegasus. Guaranteed to get a package anywhere in Equestria within fi-no three days!!! No matter the circumstances!" he said, striking a proud pose with his large wings flared out to full length, beating strongly. Before he became self conscious of himself and faltered, his ears flattening again and his wings half closed as he beat. Had he made himself look like an idiot in front of Spitfire? He had never really though of how he looked when doing that. It sorta just...happened. No, his nerves were getting the best of him...or was that his instinct telling him how much of an imbecile he was being...both?

She watched him and his body...well not in that way but she just kind of watched him for a minute. He didn’t look at her and he seemed a little out of it, her scolding had not been too hard so it could not be that. Must be the nerves of just meeting her, never got old though. Spitfire never thought she would make ponies act in such a way just because they were meeting her; she never got use to it. Ahh but if it wasn’t for clouds the young mare would be screwed. Using the cloud she was sitting on, she allowed it to drift downward more to his level, right in front of him actually. Not to close though, she didn’t want to care the poor station with her closeness. She offered a warm smile, not sure what to say to him so he could just relax around her. Once he was able to relax maybe any awkward Wonderbold fame would drift out the window. It wasn’t like she was dress up to begin with; it was just her and her fur with her fire colored hair, simple Spitfire.

Then again she never understood stallions, other than her teammates and family members. She could understand them but it was just the stallions that…liked her. She was awkward beyond repair and just horrible at flirting with them. But oh well, single forever? She could live with that for now. ”I would love to see you practice” she cheered in happily. You didn’t have be totally awesome one of a kind amazing for Spitfire to like you, just be yourself. ”Any flyer can be a Wonderbolt, it just takes heart and the will to learn” she said truthfully. You would think all of the Bolts had cutie mark’s that reflected some sort of flying talent, nope. Spitfire had a fire, her talent was protection. She just happen to be a really good flyer because she grew up flying with her older siblings, you had to be fast to keep up.

”I would fly with you but I hurt my wing” she sighed and rolled her eyes. Stupid. Of course the leader hurts her after stressing to everyone else about safety. ”But if you want and don’t mind, can you take a rain check on flying together?” she asked with a titled of her head, she wasn’t sure if that would work up his nerves more or just have him finally settle down. But finally she was getting a name; it would be nice to match it to a face now. CloudTwister, hmm she liked it. It was different oh so unique. Once he explained his role and his job, he seemed to just light up.

This must be the real him, not the shy and somewhat nervous pony he was in front of her. ”Why did you stop?” she asked with a slight little giggle, ”You were looking so good, so confident” she complemented him and stood up on her cloud. ”But if I need something delivered I’ll be sure to ask for you personally to get whatever I need in three days or less” she said with a smile, joking around with him. But not in any mean way of course, though if she did need something delivered she would ask for him if she could. If was better to have a pony you could trust with your stuff you know. ”Show me something, might as well use the space since we are here right?” she asked and turned around, letting the cloud move back to the stands, out of the way. ”I saw a little bit walking in and was impressed with that, I’m excited to see your other tricks” she encouraged him with another bright smile and soft eyes of course. If he wanted tips she would give that too because maybe next time when she could actually fly with him.

Had she just said she wanted to see him practice? Him, amateur flyer? Other than flight school and junior speedsters he hadn't done anything to prove himself well as a flyer. Sure he enjoyed flying around place, but that was just good fun. This was...like, what if he messed up? What if he really wasn't any good? He would rather just live on ignorant of that. Then again, what if he actually had some talent for this?

He almost didn't believe her about the heart and will to learn stuff. But she was Spitfire. If she didn't know who did? He smiled a bit and stretched his wings. He could do this! "Um, I dunno, I'm not really ready..." or maybe not, but hey, that was all he could choke out. Usually he was so good under pressure. But now? He felt like jelly, though the feeling was slowly dissipating. He shuffled his wings a bit before letting them relax, their wing-tips brushing the clouds. As usual he let his wings hand way to low.

He was a bit surprised at Spitfire hurting her wing. Wasn't she invincible or something? Of course when he thought about it he supposed it was impossible for them to pull off perfectly. One of them had to get hurt every once in a while. Even if it was his seemingly invincible idol: Spitfire.

"Yeah, if you don't want to fly, no problem." he said, ever more back to his usual self. Though he definitely still felt a bit pressured. He smiled as she laughed. So Maybe he had made a fool of himself, but at least it had been funny and he hadn't looked like an egomaniac. He guessed that she was mostly joking about him looking good and ever asking him to deliver anything. But it was still cool that she had said it.

Then she asked for him to preform again. His ears tilted back a bit. Just a bit though, before finally giving into temptation. Well, maybe something about her saying that she had liked his flying from earlier had helped. But either way, with a look of determination, he smiled and said "Fine, uh, just don't laugh or anything." he said. Suddenly his wings shot out, full length this time. His wings weren't the most beautiful, in fact they looked a bit roughed up. But they were big. Looking like they belonged to a creature more the size of a griffon, not a young stallion.

He waited for Spitfire to get to the stands then solidified his stance and looked to the skies with determination. What was he going to do? He hadn't really made a routine yet. He would just have to 'wing' it. He jumped into the air, pumping his wings down at the same time and rose into the air like a rocket. He even dragged some of the cloudosseum floor with him like a plume of smoke.

He climbed ever higher, straight up while spinning rapidly until he got dizzy and leveled out. Once he got high enough he pulled up even further and looped back into a line parallel to the 'floor' now. Before diving back towards the Cloudosseum floor. Half way down he did several loops, then going back into the dive he shut straight down, his wings flapping as fast as he could. Finnally, he pulled up as hard as he could, just before he hit the ground. Pumping his wings even more so he wouldn't crash into the cloud flooring. His wings burning with the effort.

But it wasn't enough. His hooves clipped the flooring, setting him off balance. He was sent into a tumble of clouds, limbs, wings, and feathers. He finally came to a stop, running into the wall that separated the preforming area from the stands.

He groaned. He had not just made a total idiot of himself in front of the captain of the wonderbolts. He unfurled his wings, standing up, his wings were sore, but not as sore as his ego. He reared up and pounded the the floor. "Darn it!" he yelled. His wings pumped just as he came down causing a cloud of... well... cloud, to rise up around him. He laid down, more than a bit frustrated with himself for messing up. His wings pitched forward, covering his face was he thrust it into the clouds.

At least with the cloud around him he was hidden. He briefly considered trying to dig through the clouds to just run away. He doubted that would work though, the floor here was pretty solid most of the time."Um...sorry 'bout that." he said. Obviously disappointed in himself, his wings were still hiding his face as he laid down. "I-I just don't know what went wrong." he muttered.

But as she watched him a bit more, she started to take into detail what he was doing and how he was flying. He did have some large wings, could cut off how much speed he got if used wrong. But those were just small minor things, things he really didn’t have to focus on unless he was a Wonderbolt. Spitfire was just so cute to looking at a pony and picking them apart as they flied around her. She did that all the time with the Wonderbolts, it became second nature.

She knew each Bolt’s weakness and strength. Though she had worked with them for like ever, so most of them knew where to catch themselves and fix the problem. ”I won’t laugh” she promised and gave him a soft smile. Why would she laugh? That would just be mean. Unless he thought she was mean or something. moving her wings out, she moved over to the stands and sat down, waiting for him to start. Yes it did hurt to fly but it was nothing Spitfire couldn’t handle.

She watched him pump up into the air with the spins and moves he was showing off. So far he was really good with what he was doing. He tucked his body in right and flapped his wings enough to get him moving in the air. She watched him come down for the big finish she guessed, a dip. Classic. Standing up, she wanted to get a better look at him as he started the dip, but why was he still flapping? He was adding speed in falling? That wouldn’t go right. She witnesses the tumble just as it happened to when it ended. It made her close her eyes hearing the thud, that must of hurt. ”Are you ok?!” she asked and opened her wings once more. Flying up and just blotting straight toward him, landing next to him. She could be quick when she wanted too, broken wing or not.

”You did really good, expect for the crash it was fantastic” she said told him quickly after. She wanted to cheer him up, it must not be the easiest thing to crash in front of her. ”You kept flapping as you were going down, you picked up speed to fall. It should be one big flap when you need to do your turn and turning your body at the same time. “ she said. She couldn’t help but tell him. At least now he wouldn’t crash anymore or anything.

”Don’t sweat it though, I still crash doing those dips” she shrugged and offered him another smile. Which was true, no lie had come from Spitfire’s mouth. Just because she was a Wonderbolt didn’t mean she still didn’t make mistakes here and there.

Ugh, well that had sucked. Crashing in front of one of, if not his biggest, heroes had not been part of the plan for today. In fact today was supposed to be a very relaxing day of trespassing and bliss and practicing in a stadium he probably didn't deserve to even share with....the Spitfire. In short, he blamed karma. It made complete sense, well, as much sense as meeting spitfire on a random day while trespassing and then having her ask you to show her your moves made.

He had pushed his luck too far and it had come back and bitten him. Hard. He wasn't just embarrassed, he was a bit crushed. That wouldn't look good if he ever applied for the Wonderbolt Academy. "I'm fine mostly, nothing that won't be gone in a day or two... my pride is pretty beat up." he said, slightly joking. It was true, but he didn't tend to rely on his sense of pride...not all that much anyways. It didn't identify him like it did some ponies.

"Yeah, crashing tends to ruin things." he was used to crashing, it actually was the 'in front of Spitfire' part that was getting his goat, no offence to goats of course. He smiled weekly at her as he got to his feet shakily, then flapped his wings experimentally, his feathers looking even more disheveled than before his flight thanks to the crash. "Sorry about....that." he said sheepishly.

This was weird, he felt...outmatched. Heck, he was out matched. Who was he kidding?! Anything he could do this mare could probably do a bajillion times better!!! "Thanks....I just wanted to be fast as possible...guess I was showing off a bit" Twister kept his eyes on the ground and his ears pinned back, practically against his neck. But when she said that she still crashed he felt a bit better.

Cloud Twister smiled, more sincerely this time, at her. "Thanks Spi-I mean Miss, er...Ma'am?" he wasn't really sure what to call her, but just calling her Spitfire, like he actually knew her, felt too weird; especially since she was THE SPITFIRE and they had just met. "Sorry for...wasting your time or anything." he added on. Hoping she wouldn't hold this against him, or a more hopeful wish, just forget it happened. She didn't seem like she'd hold it against him...but it still made him a bit nervous.
