Cloudsdale was not Mirage's usual hunting ground but she found that it was important to test her flexibility occasionally. She needed to be able to feed anywhere she went, and make sure her feeding methods could work wherever she went. They wouldn't be useful to other changelings if they were only circumstantial. So here she was surrounded by clouds, no shadows to lurk in thanks to the building's being semitransparent. Even if there were shadows she wouldn't have been able to risk being in changeling form with how often ponies flew overhead, even in the remote areas of the city. This meant she was eating up a lot of energy by staying in disguise 24/7....well, 20/1 so far. She hadn't been here long.
She had her priorities straight though. Step 1, find a meal....after that it got a bit hazy, but she would handle that when she needed to. In her search around town, disguised as a dark gray pegasus with platinum hair, she found what she was looking for, a Batpony. She hadn't ever seen one before but had heard that they were very loving creatures if you earned their trust...but in their tight nit colonies that was easier said then done. Outside of those colonies though, Mira was sure she would be able to seduce the mare!
She took a deep breath and walked over, "E-excuse me, are you from here?"
Catchfly awoke from her couch bright and early, well, for a batpony anyways. Most batponies would look at Catchfly like she had lost her mind, but alas she had to admit she loved her sunshine. Even more so, she loved to wake up and see a few small potted flowers sitting in the window sill, absorbing the sun’s rays. Due to the apartment being made of clouds, it made placing her flowers within the house a tad difficult. Only a tad, considering that those who had built the place installed wooden floors and walls within the clouds as a safety precaution. Nothing says a good morning like falling out of the bed and saying hello to the world down below.
So off she goes about her day. She carefully ties a knot with her wingthumbs behind her back as her apron hugs her body comfortably, a very small circular bulge appears from her stomach within the pouch of her apron. She silently thanked Star Breaker for having a coffee maker for there were not a better drink one could indulge themselves with before they began the day. So after brushing her teeth and pouring her coffee into a cup with a lid on it, she loops her flower basket around her shoulder and heads on out, locking up the apartment behind her.
The sun had already taken a seat overhead of the lovely cloud-built city known as Cloudsdale. What another beautiful day it had proved to be. Fall had most certainly taken it’s hold upon Equestria, or at least it had up here in Cloudsdale. The last of the summer heat lingered about as the more crisp, cool air whipped about them in a lovely breeze. Catchfly wasn’t too fond of the colder times of the year, but to be relieved of the heat that Baltimare would produce throughout it’s summer days felt truly divine.
Her hooves traversed across the puffy thick clouds, still finding it truly amazing that ponies had managed to create navigable roads amongst the clouds here in Cloudsdale. Granted, as alluring and beautiful the little puffs of clouds could be when they seem to create hills that one would want to leap upon like a pile of leave, this made getting about the city much better. It… also kept her from pouncing upon every little puff of cloud she saw. She silently wonders to herself if clouds would be tasty to eat. No sooner had that thought crossed her mind that her ears flickered to that of a voice being directed at her.
“E-excuse me, are you from here?”
Catchfly nearly jumped at the sound of the voice, perhaps she had too much coffee this morning. Oh well, not going to toss out a perfectly good cup of coffee for the sake of her own nerves. She turns to see the dark grey pegasus with a platinum mane. She appeared… nervous perhaps?
“N-no ma’am I’m not from around here. I merely arrived here just a couple of days ago. I-is… there something I may be of service to help you with? I… fear there’s little I know about this place compared to those who have called this place home much longer than I. That being said… I would not be against trying to help out one who needs it.”
Catchfly puts on her best soft smile for the mare. For once, even though she wouldn’t admit it, it felt nice to not be the only seemingly nervous pony about. With as nervous as she could be at times with any size of a crowd about, it made her think from time to time that she was alone in the aspect. However, with her golden amber eyes dulled from the sunlight, she slowly approaches the mare, keeping a respectable distance from her. Perhaps for a change, she could be of help today.

Mirage Smiled and then, Silver Lyning smiled, grateful that she had found someone to help her. She had been lost in this city for so long, with no idea where she was going! She just knew that she needed to get to the weather district and find the cloudmaking rooms. If her name didn't make it obvious enough her flank was, wait had that been there a moment before?...Of course it had. It wasn't like cutiemark's just appeared while talking to strangers! Anyways, it was a cloud with steams of sunlight coming from behind it, giving the cloud a roll credits silver lining.
"I need some help finding the weather factory." she said, her gaze locked on Silene's hooves. Her face was starting to burn up with a blush. It was clear this pony wasn't much of a talker. She must have been on her very last hope if she was resorting to something that made her so amazingly nervous! What a poor mare, she didn't just need help, she clearly deserved help after struggling for so long. I'm...no good at big cities like this, c-could you help me out?" she asked slowly, acting like she was treading on eggs. Not even eggshells, full eggs.
Silver lyning bit her lip and looked to the mare with puppydog eyes. "If I'm late I don't know what I'm going to do. I...I'm a good weather pony, but-" her eyes started filling with tears, tears that she blinked back. "s-sorry I'm such a mess." she stuttered out.
"I need some help finding the weather factory. I'm...no good at big cities like this, c-could you help me out?"
Catchfly blinked in surprise. Help? Help this pony find her way around a city in which she had just literally walked into only days before and still didn't know her way around for toot and scoot? She wanted to say she didn't know her way around either, but seeing the mare begin to shuffle and tear up had easily began to get the better of her.
"If I'm late I don't know what I'm going to do. I...I'm a good weather pony, but, s-sorry I'm such a mess."
Yep, those puppy dog eyes caved in any resistance Catchfly had wanted to produce. This meant she was likely going to have to deal with a crowd today, she was going to have to rush, and she was going to have to deal with it all. Just the thought of having to force herself into a crowd made her want to cry in fear. If she had her way, she'd have a store where only a few ponies at a time could enter. Oh well, life around her would keep going on and her mother's encouragement and kindness always kept her strong and steered her into better judgement.
So with her mother's example in mind, she takes a gentle step forward, placing as gentle of a hoof upon the poor mare's shoulder, lowering her face just enough to make nervous eye contact with the mare before her. She knew eye contact from the pony trying to help usually gave the one receiving the help confidence or at the very least comforted them, so she'd start there.
I... I can try my best to help you. I do believe that... you are a very good weather pony. We... will likely have to go find a directory somewhere in town to find our way but... I... believe that we will find the factory in time. You... you won't be late today ma'am.
She lowered her hoof from the mare, giving a gentle warm smile, her eyes softening considerably before looking about her. She had to have a place to start. There were always directories in towns of sorts. She'd approach a guard, but without knowledge of Star's whereabouts, she'd much rather find a directory. Question is, where?
The town's plaza. The plaza with the rainbow fountain, wouldn't that serve as a place to hold a directory? Certainly one would be led to believe so, it's in the center of town and from there, a pony could go a number of ways. Yes... I believe we'll start there and find ourselves a directory.
If... you will follow me, we will be on our way now ma'am.
With grace in her step, she takes off down the street, her purple, very well taken care of tail flicks to the side, her bat ears flicking with each and every sound. If there was a pony who sounded as if they were headed to the factory, she could pin their location and they'd be well on their way rather than going on the whim of a hope. The fluff on her eartips flowed with the wind, occasionally causing her ears to rapidly flick and twist before returning to their alert status.
