Soarin' started thinking over what he wanted as Pinkie Pie gave her list to him again. All of it still sounded so good, and hearing it twice wasn't gonna help him decide. He stamped one of his hooves down, trying to cut Pinkie off as he moved in closer to her to try and emphazise what he was about to say:
She pushed him into a chair over to the side, his back to the mare as she ran about doing her business.
After a lot of... questionable noises, he was finally able to turn around.
Sitting on the counter was a three-tiered cake. The cake was lined with cookies, each layer topped with a cupcake with EXTRA sprinkles, and then there was the top tier. A pie rested on the top, with croissants all around it.
"Ta-DA!" She sang out. "I call it the Princess's Pink Sugar Surprise!"
Having watched all this quietly, he raised a brow when the two seemed to come to a conclusion on what was to be purchased.
He flinched a bit when she brought the cake... thing. "Again?" Pinkie and her bizarre but delicious desserts. He shook his head, grinning slightly. Ah well. It seemed she was busy today. Maybe he would see if Snips and Snails were out of school yet--wait, what day was it? Was it a school day? Arg! He knew he should have checked the calender!
"Hey, Pinkie, see ya' late! I'm gonna see if I can find something to get into!" With that, the little dragon waddled out of the door, almost appearing as if he were running toward the trouble he was bound to get into today.
Well, Soarin' certainly was suprised by Pinkie practically picking him up and setting him in a chair. That wasn't the suprise he had in mind...but, from the sound of things, she was working on the actual suprise right behind him. Soarin' didn't want to spoil the suprise he asked for, so he didn't turn around until Pinkie started talking again with a "Ta-da!"
What stood before Soarin' was something that would strike fear into hearts of ponies with lesser apetites. Even so, Soarin' could only stare at the magnificent terror of a dessert that Pinkie Pie had created.
"H-how did do you....how does this exi...how much do you want for it?"
Soarin's eyes had drifted back to the...thing on the counter in the time it took Pinkie to respond. This was truly something special, something that defied the laws of....vaarious things, mostly reality and physics. Fortunately, Soarin' never studied law, so he had no objections.
"I don't want to sound like a broken record here, but how much do you want for it? Name your price, I'll pay it. "
"Well... three-tier cakes are usually about fifty bits... all those cookies probably add up to ten... those cupcakes plus their extra sprinkles are ten... the pie is ten... the croissants are about five... So... about 85 bits? Does that sound right?"
"You got it," Soarin' quickly said. Soarin' reached just out of Pinkie's view and pulled out a wallet. Opening it up, Soarin' dumped out the various bit coins he had and started counting. In a few seconds, he scooped up the remainder and put it back, and put his wallet away.
"That should cover it," he said, nudging the amount he was paying...which was 100, not 85. "Keep the change...and help me carry this to a table so I can try it, please?"
"...I guess so!" Soarin' said quickly in reply to Pinkie's comment. He was pretty sure he knew what she meant. Usually, when he was reaching for something on his person, he'd just reach for it and poof! It was there. It was kinda weird, but he tried not to think about it.
The two eventually got the cake to the table. That was easy, despite their lagic of unicorn magic. Now all that was left was to eat...well, after he cut a piece off first.
"Do you have something I cut this with? I don't wanna just pig out on this thing...no matter how much I want to."
Soarin' just stared for a moment at the massive slice Pinkie had given him. He just met this mare, and already,he was thinking she was onto something with the whole 'best of friends' idea. Because, clearly, they were on the same page.
Now, the only question was: how was he gonna eat this mammoth of a slice? Soarin' had a feeling that eating civily or politely wasn't an option. Then again, he figured Pinkie Pie wouldn't mind.
Soarin' spun the plate around and leaned over the slice of the PPSS. His jaw opening to a massive size, cartoon-stlye, he pulled the whole thing into his mouth. His eyes widened as he began to eat the slice of the PPSS. It was undescribably good. It put the Spicecakes before it to shame. After a minute or so of silent, shocked chewing, he finally swallowed.
"Sweet mother of Celestia." Was all that he could say. He was actively trying to resist hugging Pinkie out of sheer joy at this point.
