||| CHARACTER NAME |||
#Age Group ; Young Adult
#Gender ; Mare
#Cutie Mark ; A white tornado
#Occupation ; Mailpony, she's based in Ponyville but commutes as needed. She's delivered a few letters and packages pretty far.
#Powers and Abilities ; She's pretty quick and agile, both in the air on on the ground, although not Rainbow-Dash quick. Her special talent is being able to create a small cyclone by zipping around in a tight circle. This has little practical use other than fluffing up clouds or spin-pranking ponies, but it does show she has some talent with wind manipulation.
#Physique ; Lithe, neither plump nor muscled
#Mane and fur color and style ; Her fur is a dusty brown color, and her soft mane a more saturated brown with white streaks. Some have compared her to a S'more, but she's gotten sort of tired of it.
#Eye color ; Blue
#Other appearance details (optional) ; She wears a blue bracelet. She has some trouble seeing faraway objects, and wears a pair of blue prescription airpony's goggles that, when not worn, can be found around her neck or pushed up on her forehead.
#A more thorough description (optional) ;/blockquote]
Whirlwind, like many pegasi, loves the air. On her off days, she can often be found up in the sky, either playing in clouds or seeing how high and fast she can fly before tiring. She loves to watch the world from above, the curve of the planet, the little ant-ponies in their tiny towns, and the distant mountains are all sources of wonder for her. She has entertained the thought of just packing up and flying as far as she can, discovering somewhere new and telling her fellow ponies about it. But on the flip side, she doesn't like to spend so much time away from home. And who deliver the mail in her absence?
On the ground, she spends her time playing with her pet Labrador, Alicia, and reading. She is a pathological bookworm, especially when it comes to fantasy and adventure, and makes frequent trips to the library. She sometimes imagines herself in the hero's place, fighting dragons and changelings and exploring deep dungeons and high mountain peaks. She wants to have adventures of her own one day, but of course, nothing exciting ever happens in Ponyville.
Except, you know, parasprites, dragons, monsters escaping from Tartarus, and dragon/horse/bat things turning the town into a logic-defying toybox.
But she never manages to be around during those sort of things.
Whirlwind is active and outgoing, making friends easily, but she has a hair-trigger temper. Stupidity, ignorance, arrogance, and brattiness are all on her pet peeve list, and while she normally thinks things through before acting, she can be notoriously foolish when angry.
Whirlwind's parents were a unicorn mare and an earth pony stallion. It was odd, but not unheard of, for foals to differ from their parents, and Whirlwind was no exception. The filly had no siblings growing up, but her family loved animals and always had at least one or two pets when she was growing up.
Going through school, she wasn't a social butterfly by any means but never had any big issues. She made friends with another pegasus, who also had no-pegasi parents, and the two would often spend time trying to teach eachother to fly in an attempt to get their cutie marks. After multitudes of falls, flutters, scrapes, dings, and bumps, the two finally discovered their talents: Whirlwind was exceedingly agile in the air and had an affinity for wind, while her friend could coax rain from the driest cloud and went on to become a storm-maker pony. Neither talent was extremely unique, but the two foals were very proud of themselves.
Whirlwind later got a job as a mailmare, and while it isn't the most glamorous job in Equestria she's happy doing it, but dreams of one day being sent to explore far-away places.The Roleplayer's Corner

#Sample RP ;
Whirlwind surveyed the pile of cloud in front of her, hovering with her front legs crossed across in her chest in a thoughtful pose. Her dog sat on the ground underneath her, watching expectantly. She barked once, and Whirlwind looked down at her. "Yeah, yeah. Just give me a moment." She looked back at the cloud. "Gotta get the muse flowing first."
The dog rolled her eyes.
A simple cumulus cloud would be easy to make, but she wanted to try a challenge, and actually sculpt the cloud into something. Whirlwind circled it slowly, then glanced at her dog again. She had an idea.
Using her hooves to mold the cloud like a giant, fluffy lump of clay, she slowly prodded and pushed the cloud into a recognizable shape. Using her wings to whisk a few of the edges off, Whirlwind fluttered backwards to view a passable cloud imitation of Alicia. She looked down at the lab. "Whaddya think?"
A gust of wind knocked the cloud's head off, causing Alicia to wince slightly. Whirlwind huffed. "Well, it's temporary art, you know?"
