Pumpkin smashing catapults? A gluttony of common carnival fare?! CHEAP COSTUMES!?[/blockquote]
Prince Blueblood was finding that he was not having a good time at the Nightmare Night festival in Ponyville. His dislike of the common-class’s parties was rather well known amongst those in Canterlot, and his exile to Ponyville was simply enhancing this dislike. It had been some time since he had been sent to this backwater little town, and he still had not yet ‘mingled with the common folk’ enough to his parents satisfaction. So here he was attending this ‘celebration’, doing his best to keep a smile on to hide his distaste for the going ons here.
It wasn’t that he disliked Nightmare Night; he had plenty of fond memories of enjoying the celebrations at the various Nightmare Night balls that were held throughout Canterlot. The finest deserts, imported candies, elegant masked costumes. That was the way to celebrate a holiday, not running around in the dirt and mud sending pumpkins flying through the air. And he swore that earlier he had seen a pony bathing in the ‘bobbing for apples’ game. That alone should have made the owner of such a game to have been fined for several health code violations. Apparently such concerns, however, were not on the minds of the peasantry tonight.
At the very least he was able to try and drown his boredom and disinterest in some of the freshly made cider that was being offered. Normally he wouldn’t even touch cider unless it was made with apples from imported or Canterlot-ian farms, but with no other real options available, he had found himself ordering a mug or two. To this then he had to give some credit to the peasants; at least they could make a good cup of cider. That, however, was about the most he was willing to credit them at this moment of time.
