When all was said and done, there was quite a large gathering assembled. For all of the new faces, there wasn't a single one that Fluttershy hadn't already met. She always tried to meet any new animals in the area, but it was a little surprising to not have the opportunity to meet a newcomer. The knowledge that one of them could be leaving to go stay with Braeburn was not something Fluttershy could dwell too heavily upon. Arranging for Rainbow Dash to take on Tank hadn't been a problem. Her friend's recent long term trip notwithstanding, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash had lived near each other for a very long time and there was every reason to assume they would continue living near each other once her friend returned.
But when an animal left with Braeburn, there would be no telling when she might see it again. She had responsibilities here. As the stallion spoke, Fluttershy took the opportunity to lightly close her eyes and collect herself. Things had moved so fast that she hadn't let the reality sink in. She did not pick favorites and she would not play games to try to influence the decision in some way that might temporarily seem favorable. Braeburn was a nice pony with a lot to give. ”Yes, I know that it might seem scary to move to some place new, but just because you've never been there doesn't mean that you won't love it,” she smiled despite herself, ”And you would be such a big help, there's nothing quite like a good day's work.”
As could be expected, the animals who already had families didn't jump at the opportunity. However, there were a few animals that seemed interested in the idea. One of the bobcats, apparently acting as a spokesanimal given the reaction of the assembly, asked her a few questions. She nodded before turning to Braeburn, ”He would like to know what kind of help you need and if it's noisy,” she listened agained, ”Oh and if there's food.”
