Cloud's eyes widened as she pounded in the Nail with one solid blow. This job must've really given her a good work out. He wasn't sure if he could even do that. Of course, if he could read Applejack's mind he would be able to confirm that he did have his head in the clouds, literally most the time. Figuratively all the time, though he liked to fancy himself a talented pony, he never really thought so. But he enjoyed Dreaming so he ignored his brain and followed what he wanted.
As he watched her continue working on the shed he smiled at the mention of family. He barely saw his, they lived all over Equestria. A few had even settled down. Where, well he had forgotten where exactly. "It must be nice to have such a close family, mo such luck here." he wasn't mopey or anything, just making conversation.
He accidentally rose a few inches after she took a board. He didn't even notice, he was solely invested in the conversation right now but he wasn't really paying any attention to his elevation, he was just so used to being so high up that a few inches didn't change much.
When she started mentioning the extra stuff his ears still flicked down but he was almost totally over it. She seemed to be too, so he didn't really have a reason to be or feel guilty anymore. He lowered himself to make taking the boards easier "If, you're sure. I can carry as many as you need." he was actually telling the truth, his wings weren't tired in the least. He could keep this up all day. "Should I grab more?" he asked, he had no idea. He didn't work with real buildings all to often. His best idea of construction was clouds, thats how Cloudsdale worked, how his house worked. He didn't need to worry about this sort of stuff. But he was beginning to find the earth pony life really foreign and interesting.
