Nya could not believe her bad luck when one of the griffons, the one that was flyin around, looked at her and started coming towards her. Of all the things she didn't want! Nya was not a clue! Nya shrank back and took a quick glance around the balcony. There was, of course, no way off except through the door. Well, and down but Nya didn't like that option! She might have tried to go back the way she'd come, but even with a running start, she wouldn't make it. So the little striped filly tried to lay even flatter and stiller, as Tech got even closer. Her eyes were as big as saucers and her ears were plastered back against her head- as though this would make her look even smaller. Every nerve she had was ringing, and still, she waited. She might have been a misplaced statue, or a stone.
When the griffon was within three feet of her though, Nya sprang into action! Literally! She launched herself with a loud yell, as though shot from a cannon, at Tech's face in a hope to startle the bird. Sometimes, Predators could be scared away if one was loud and fast and unexpected. But just in case, Nya's jump was aimed low, so that she actually landed under the griffon. And she hit the ground running! She was going to head straight for the door, but the other griffon, Gilda in this case, was between her and it, and the zebra didn't have the nerve to run at a second predator! There was only one last hope!
Changing direction in a flash, Nya leapt up onto one of the pedestals, disturbing one of the crystals on it, of course. The zebra jumped to the next one, this one of the empties, and the one after it, which was also vacant, then attempted to fling herself across the back of Time Turner and cling to him as though glued.
"Dont let them eat Nya!" the little filly half-demanded, half pleaded. She figured it was something of a long shot- but she was out of better ideas!
