It was getting closer for another team performance. High Winds had spent the last several days going through heavy, rigorous training sessions as well as some standard flight patrols. While she was used to such a schedule, she still had to admit that it could get pretty taxing. Fortunately today was an off day for the team: Spitfire had given everypony the day to recuperate before the "fun" resumed tomorrow.
Remembering her earlier vow to take the time to check out Ponyville some more when she had the chance, Windy had practically jumped at the chance to head to the town now that she'd been given some rare free time. This time around she'd chosen to leave her uniform and gear back home in Cloudsdale - while usually she did carry everything on her when she was outside the academy or her house, today she'd decided that it was easier to leave everything. In the hopefully slim to none chance that something occurred and needed her to fly into action after all, she'd just have to go suitless, or hope that one of her teammates had a spare suit she could borrow and return.
But she wasn't going to fret about any potential hazards in Equestria for the day. Today was going to be spent on some time to recover her energy, and worrying about anything like that wouldn't help. So with work officially off the table for the day, that left her free to fully check out the town. On instinct she'd checked out the cafe she'd visited the last time she was in Ponyville on the off chance that Melanite would just so happen to be inside again, but checking through from the window confirmed that she wasn't inside this time. Not feeling overly hungry just yet, Windy chose to move further away from the center of town than she had on previous visits.
After another few minutes of trotting along, the pegasus came upon what looked like Ponyville's industrial section. Vendors, stores, and shops were lined up through the whole area. Windy smiled to herself as she gazed at the various different shops. While she didn't have too many bits on her at the moment, she had enough to pick up maybe a thing or two and still maybe grab lunch (or would that be a late breakfast?) as a little memento of first full visit to Ponyville. Given all the shops in the area, there had to be something interesting she'd find that was worth picking up.
