||| VOLARE |||
[/i] Her wings ceased their buzzing, lowering towards her back. Her ears drooped, and she lowered her head. How do I get back home?[/i]
#Name; Volare
#Age Group ; Young adult
#Gender ; Female
#Species; Changeling
#Cutie Mark ; N/A
#Occupation ; She works for Queen Chrysalis, of course!
#Powers and Abilities ;>> Shape Shifing-- one of her obvious powers, she can shift into the form of any pony there ever was. the duration for each shift varies, depending on how much love she can feed on. if she's roughly bumped/rammed into, then she will instantly change back into her normal form. she also has to have seen the pony before in order to shift into them. this can be from seeing the actual pony or just a picture.
>> Flight -- those wings aren't just for show. she's pretty fast in the sky, but the main drawback is the buzzing that comes from her wings. it's like listening to a fly go by your ear.
#Physique ; Like all Changelings, she has a pony-like form. She is relatively thin, getting close to skeletal.
#Mane and fur color and style ; Can you even consider that fur? Her body is dark and grey, and her "mane" and "tail" are lighter in color.
#Eye color ; Each eye is completely a bright blue color with a white center, and they glow brightly in the dark.
#Other appearance details ; Legs: holes; Wings: torn
#A more thorough description ;Everyone has seen her kind--the pony-esque creatures that can change their form at will. Her body is covered in dark grey, the only hint that what covers her is not skin being the gleam from the sun. It's more like an exoskeleton, really. Her legs have holes in them, and one can compare them to Swiss cheese. She doesn't really know why there are holes in her legs, but you can blame evolution. Her "mane" and "tail" look more like fins of some sort, and they sport a lighter grey color compared to the rest of her body. Her ears are pointed and torn, and her horn curves backwards a bit. Blue insect wings adorn her back, torn in a couple of places. Her eyes probably stand out the most, unless she is standing next to more of her kind. Large, round, and bug-like, they are completely blue with more of a white center. There is also a pair of long, shark fangs protruding from her mouth. Those are relatively useless, unless she decides to give someone a good nip. Compared to other Changelings her age, she is relatively smaller than them, even if only by a few inches.
#Personality ;
Volare is... Quite complicated. She puts up this tough, menacing front towards everyone, whether she's in the presence of higher ups or not. She tries to talk the talk and walk the walk, disregarding whether or not she harms another in the process. However, the key word up there is a front. She is always striving to be accepted among her fellow Changelings, and the thought of being a complete and total outcast to them tears her up inside. On the inside, she's really just a scared little shape shifting bug who can't seem to get it into her head that she's just another face in the Changeling army, that it doesn't matter how she acts.
If you manage to get her to talk to you as herself, it's pretty obvious that she doesn't know what she's doing at the present. She'll scramble around the room (assuming she's inside), look for a way out, and, if all else fails, stutter out her words. Without her fellow Changelings, she is just a frightened little bug with no where to hide. Other than the dumpster, of course. It seems to be a favored hiding place of her's, despite the smell. No one ever thinks to look there.
She's quite new to the customs of Equestria, from the clothing to the architecture to... Well, all of it. She often seems surprised when she sees any of it, and her attempts to mask it never works. At times she'll act like a child opening Christmas presents when someone gives her something of Equestria variety.
(And because I'm lazy...)
Likes: sweet smells, dark areas, being complimented, other Changelings, warmth
Dislikes: being scolded, bright lights, the winter, birds, negative feelings
#History ;
Volare never really knew her parents. Well, she knew them, but she was never able to have the quality time everyone should have with their parents. She was the youngest of ten children, and... Well, she was ignored a lot. Her parents tended to focus more on her older siblings who were ranking up quickly in the Queen's army. Volare was taken care of by her younger siblings who were kind of in the same situation. They took care of each other while their parents were off celebrating with their older sisters and brothers.
As soon as Volare was given the opportunity, she enlisted in the army. What better way to gain her parents' recognition than to join what they were always fussing over? It didn't really work out too well. Regardless, she stuck with it. She went through countless training sessions, from quickening the time between each shift to the speed of her flight. They were never able to train away the buzz of her wings, though, so stealth in the air was never her strong suit. As a smaller Changeling, she was often taunted and teased by the other recruits. She tried to prove to them on various occasions that she was just as good as them, but that also seemed to go in vain.
On the invasion of Canterlot, Volare was there all right, but she didn't actually do any fighting. At the first sign of it, she hid as fast as she could. It was her fight or flight instincts taking in, and they screamed at her to fly as fast as she could. She hid in Ponyville, finding herself a nice, dark corner and sulking until the danger had past. She didn't even notice when the entire army and Queen Chrysalis was defeated, so hearing the news while eavesdropping on ponies who passed by came as a shock to her. She would have headed straight home, but... Honestly, she doesn't know the way back.The Roleplayer's Corner

#How did you find us? ; I was site hopping and found your ad.
#Sample RP ;Blue eyes blinked from the dark shadow cast down by a two story building she assumed was a store. At least that was what it seemed like. There might be a house on the second story, but she couldn't tell from her current location. It wasn't like it was important or anything. No, she should be on the look out for any other Changelings. She couldn't remember how long she had been waiting, only that it was quite a while. Perhaps a day? Yeah, that was probably it.
Her wait was absolutely boring. She had to sit there, watching ponies pass her by. She couldn't even walk out of her hiding spot and talk to them! It's not like she'd want to or anything, but... It would be nice to have some company. The Changeling sighed, watching as a couple of fillies galloped past, squealing and giggling as a colt chased after him. Were children allowed to do such tomfoolery on a regular basis? Seriously, this had to be the second group of fillies and colts she had seen that day. They were never allowed to have such fun when she was young...
Her ears drooped at the thought of her childhood, but she quickly shook it away. Now was not the time to be thinking of such things! No, she needed to be on the lookout. Surely one of her kind would come find her... On the bright side, there was plenty of love and affection around her to feed on. She wouldn't go hungry for a while now, and--wait, what were those two mares talking about. The Changeling's ears perked once more, and she strained her head towards the talking ponies. She definitely heard the Queen's name...
Her jaw dropped and eyes widened.
She couldn't believe what she had heard. Queen Chrysalis, defeated?! All the training, the speeches, the months planning... All of that went to waste? How could this be? She was certain that the Changelings would win... She would not stand for this! Hopping to her feet, the Changeling buzzed her wings in preparation to take flight. I have to do something! But...
