||| Grizelda Luliaceae a.k.a ‘Gilda’ |||
#Name; Grizelda Luliaceae a.k.a ‘Gilda’
#Age Group ; Young Adult
#Gender ; Female
#Species; Griffon
#Cutie Mark ; N/A
#Occupation ; Long Distance Postal Service and part time tutor of...flying creature related stuff.
#Powers and Abilities ; Wicked fast flyer and has great eyesight. She also has an awesomely accurate sense of smell and being a griffon makes her pretty darn tough and strong thanks to her size.
She also is a bit of a pickpocket.
#Physique ; She’s in great shape, a perfect athletic specimen of a griffon.
#Mane and fur color and style ; she doesn’t have a mane, but she does have feathers. She has brown feathers from the chest back, though at some point fur mixes into it. Above her mid chest region she is a stark white with the exception of some purple speckles on the front of her chest and purple ‘shadows’ around her eyes. Other than that she has some extra long feathers on her head that act sorta like bangs that turn from white to purple at the tips.
#Eye color ; Yellowy Amber.
#Other appearance details (optional) ;
She’s a griffon!!! She’s half eagle, Half lion and all awesome! Instead of hooves she has paws on her back legs and the awesome talons of an eagle. Her wings are big, like, alicorn big. They aren’t quite as full though and they’re a bit darker than the rest of her body.
She has a bright yellow beak too, good for...well that doesn’t really need to be talked about for certain ponies’ sake. Gilda also has a long tail which can give away her mood much like a cat’s tail gives away its mood.
#A more thorough description (optional) ;She’s always walking like she owns the place. Gilda also can be really intimidating. Her voice, already scratchy can be a full out screech or even a roar. She can also spread her wings out and stand straight on her hind legs, which makes her pretty much taller than anypony, er, anyone?
#Personality ;
And you thought Rainbow was proud? Well meet Gilda the griffon. She’s not exactly your typical Equestrian. She’s not as nice. In fact she can be pretty mean. She doesn’t have any tolerance for...anything actually. Anything but awesome that is. She gets along fine with other athletes though, like Dash. She enjoys a good prank and can be nostalgic to the point of clinging to the past. This can lead to a few cracks and breaks in her confidence and the things that do that are few and far between but one of those things are Timberwolves. She has a pretty irrational fear of all canines, even diamond dogs to an extent, but around Timberwolves she tends to freeze up.
Gilda also has a temper, a really bad one, with a really short fuse that is easily lit. Which is sorta surprising since she lacks enthusiasm in general. It’s really hard to get this mar- ... erm ...sheagle excited. She tends to just, ya know, keep her cool. Though she does laugh, usually at somepony’s expense but that still counts. More than anything else though, she’s sorta kinda a bully, not to mention a thief. Not because she doesn’t think it’s wrong, but because she doesn’t think it’s wrong for her. She’d pretty selfish when it comes to anything but her friends(if she has any at the moment) and with her friends she tends to be a bit...possessive. Especially if she feels like someone if taking her time or is a better friend. In short, she get jealous.
Ponies can be a bit scared of predator-like things and as a griffon she fits that bill pretty well which wouldn’t be a problem if she didn’t use it to her advantage. She tends to intimidate ponies into doing her bidding. Other times she’s just mean and finally she sometimes just scares ponies for the sake of scaring ponies. Not to mention her pranks can get a bit harsh.
But even Gilda has a good side. She isn’t evil and doesn’t physically hurt people and doesn’t try to permanently affect anyone. She also defends her friends if they need it...though she ‘lets go’ of them pretty easily she has a hard time letting go of the past and will miss them, not that she’d ever tell them. Shes way too proud for that. But if she gets to know somepony she treats them well, still sarcastic and teasing, but its definitely more friendly and its definitely teasing, not bullying.
She also shares Rainbow Dash’s love of the Wonderbolts and racing, even if she doesn’t show it as enthusiastically. Finally and definitely, in her opinion, least, she has a bit of a soft spot for young pegasi, griffons...pretty much anything else that could be a ‘fledgeling.’
#History ;
Gilda the griffon was Equestrian born and raised. In Cloudsdale more specifically. With two older siblings, one brother and one sister. Of course there aren’t very many Griffons in Equestria, and still only a few in Cloudsdale, so she sorta stuck out like a sore thumb no matter where she was. Her parent’s, also griffons(not a lion and an eagle) of course. They weren’t around the most though. Griffons do eat meat after all and in Equestria the only way to get meat is to hunt it, but even past that they, like her, are pretty selfish and over all just weren't the very best role models for a young griffon. They did, however, emphasize how important flight is to griffins and weren't completely absent or anything like that.
She spent most of her time outside, playing. Unfortunately she was eventually a bit estranged from the rest of the ponies on the local playground. While she wasn't ever the new kid on the block, she was always ‘that griffon chick, cub, fledgling.’ Her unusual appearance led to more than a bit of teasing. A lot of teasing, but it wasn’t like there was anywhere else to go or anything else to do so she stuck around. For the first few years everything was fine, until a new foal moved in. His name was Brutus and, to Gilda, he was the nastiest pony that’ll ever live.
He was mean and green(literally, forest green coat)and he was the main bully. He eventually gained a small following but he was the one who started it. Apparently he was from near the Griffon homeland and there was a bit of a rivalry back there. One day he took it a bit too far. Everypony just was laughing at her and Gilda snapped and tackled him off a tall cloud. They both ended up with a broken wing, but he also ended up with talon marks all over him, even damaging one of his cutiemarks.
Nopony messed with her for the next few weeks. It was pretty awesome. She never had been so...free to do anything. The power sorta went to her head. She didn't fight anymore ponies, but she, to a lesser extent, became a bully. Typically it wasn't anything serious, just pranks(mostly harmless) but still enough to be labeled a, sort of, bully.
Around the point of early middle school she had lost her bully status, but she wasn't made fun of as much anymore. Even when she was made fun of it was mostly by the jocks, because she, Gilda the griffon, was now the fastest student around. Well, at her school anyways. She knew she wasn't the fastest of everyone...but that didn't stop her from saying she was.
Eventually thought, she was back among the outcasts, but not teased anymore, she thought it was a pretty sweet spot to be in. So what if she didn't have any friends? At least she wasn't being harassed anymore. Or so she thought.
Around high school she entered Junior Speedsters. She loved 'fancy flying' as most of the teachers called it, she called it being a dare devil. a stunt griffon, being awesome. It was at Junior Speedsters that she met her first, best, and longest friend: Rainbow Dash. Of course, being the competitive athletes they are,
it wasn't smooth sailing for them at first. They were fierce rivals for the first few weeks but Gilda eventually warmed up to the mare.
Now, while Gilda would whole-heartedly admit that Dash is...or was, her best friend, she wouldn't admit that Dash was her first best friends. Not to mention the only real friend she's had. Not counting her siblings of course, you don't get to choose them. Gilda and Dash were like two peas in a pod for a long time, Junior speedsters was her favorite time of the day and Dash even taught her the finer bits of pranking. It was, in Gilda's words, 'totally awesome.'
Of course Junior speedsters was just on and off for a few years. During the rest of the year she could meet up with Dash(always a bit less often than she wanted) but it wasn't the same as at Junior speedsters, there, they were two of the top students. But at one point Dash was pulled aside as they were hanging out. Gilda didn't think anything of it when Rainbow said she had a new class scheduled during that time.
However, over the next few weeks it became hard for them to find time together and eventually they stopped hanging out. Gilda didn't take it well and that lead to her taking it out on others through pranks, jokes, things like that. This was also around the time she started stress preening. She didn't and still hasn't noticed, but she does it.
The rest of Junior speedsters was still fun...but it wasn't the same. She was still one of the best fliers but without Dash by her side she didn't really feel the same Rush. She lost most of her confidence streak and sorta just fell into the background of flight school whenever they weren't in practice, spending most of her time in her room.
She felt betrayed, mad, but she was mostly just sad that her friend wasn't around. A few years passed and Gilda was back to her mean streak, sorta. If anypony did anything that could be the least bit misconstrued as challenging her, such as bumping her identically, she would go off on them. She was still more than a bit bitter about Dash leaving now, they weren't even in school anymore and they hadn't met since. Well, at least until one day when she heard about a rainbow maned element of loyalty.
The first thing she thought about was the irony, being bitter about flight camp...still, was she just not good enough? had they not been friends? But when she contacted Rainbow and she contacted back and made plans; Gilda was ecstatic. She didn't exactly show it, much to proud, but it was true.
She showed up in Ponyville, ready to have a good day when she showed up. The pink mare, it was alright at first and she left them alone for a while...but then she showed up again. stinky-pie was stealing her time with Dash, Gilda wasn't having that. She tried to be subtle, but that absentminded mare obviously didn't have the brain power to catch her drift. So, maybe she over reacted in telling her to buzz off. Just a bit.
She went through the town, pranking, getting a bite to eat, yelling at some crybaby of a pony. Who even leads a duck around? Then she was invited to some stupid party full of ponies she had never even met before. Which would have been fine if they hadn't started laughing at her. She sorta snapped, yelling at everypony, it was all the pink mare's fault! She had been making her look bad all day....or so she thought.
Turned out they were Dash's pranks. Which would have been fine...if she had known earlier, but it was a bit late now. She couldn't just turn around and say sorry, then she'd look like a jerk and an idiot. That wasn't happening, Gilda left. She stayed outside for a while, thinking about going back in, but eventually she took off and flew out of town as fast as she could.
No pony would hear her cry, not that she was crying. Dash was just her friend after all, she could get other friends...right? Gilda continued her job as a mail 'pony' though she was getting a lot more complaints now, she eventually toned it down while on the job after almost being fired.
Though her pent up rage eventually just sorta boiled down to depression. which climbed up until she was about to join the best young fliers competition and saw Dash. That ended that almost immediately. There was no way Gilda was gonna go up against Dash, what if she lost? More humiliation, that's what! But she still went to see the competition, next best thing right? That's when she got to see Dash pull it off, the Sonic Rainboom. Gilda was amazed of course but also extremely nervous all of a sudden. If Dash could do...that she would need to step it up to beat her onto the Wonderbolts and she would beat Dash onto the Wonderbolts, even if it was the last thing she did.
Over the next while Gilda pushed herself hard, even when she was just delivering packages and mail. That made her a favorite of course, nothing sells mail better than a fast delivery. It helped, but it, along with her stress preening making her look pretty ragged, she got on forced and paid leave.
She currently is doing a bit of freelancing along with giving a few pegasi colts and fillies a few pointers in flying. Not because she has a soft spot or anything, some ponies just aren't good at flying. Most importantly, she's avoiding ponyville to this day. She hopes to avoid Dash until she's on the Wonderbolts. She had some sorry's written out and almost delivered them herself a few times, but those are back in her house in Cloudsdale, long forgotten.The Roleplayer's Corner

”Hey Watch it!” the griffon growled. Somepony had just dared to almost bump into her. She had spent the past however long avoiding Ponyville, and hopefully Dash, like they were both made of griffon’s-bane. She was still angry, it wasn’t like she cared anymore though. She didn't care at all actually. It was just a distant, stinging memory of losing her best friend. Nothing special.
Anyways, Gilda had a package to deliver that was thrown in her 'saddlebag'. It was a bit modified for her, being a griffon wearing a regular saddlebag hurt her back and, more importantly, her wings. So she had it changed to hang off the side of her chest, much more comfortable than on her back or dig into her wing-pit, rubbing her raw.
Speaking of raw, she needed to go hunting after this, she was getting hungry. That meant she needed to finish this delivery nice and quick. Gilda was nothing if not quick, spreading her wings she shot down the road, just above everypony's heads. Then, abruptly, she stopped. "Ha, there you are." she said confidently before walking up to it and rapping on the door. "Equestrian Postal Service here." okay so, maybe that was a bit half hearted, but that was just how she spoke.
"Oh, leave it on the doorstep please." Gilda frowned, it was gonna be like this again eh? She had fallen for this trick a few times back when she was new to the job, but now she knew better. Of course most the time ponies honestly were just busy, but sometimes they didn't pay for service and guess who had to cough up the bits."Nah man, you gotta come sign for it." to which she got "Sorry, but Im bus-" unfortunately for him, Gilda was in a pretty terrible mood from being hungry and thinking about her Ponyville run in.
She reared up and roared out "Get over here before I knock down this door!" the street of ponies all stopped and stared at her for a moment, until she growled at them, that seemed to get them moving. There was a large crash from behind the door and a thud. Gilda winced slightly and grinned falsely as he opened the door to reveal a paint covered unicorn stallion. "Sign here please....dweeb"
