#Name; Midnight Blaze, usually goes by Blaze.
#Age Group ; Adult
#Gender ; Male
#Species; Pegasus
#Cutie Mark ;
#Occupation ; He works in the weather factory in Cloudsdale.
#Powers and Abilities ; Blaze is a particularly fast flier, which seems to be something of a family trait. He is also quite knowledgeable on the night skies and is adept at navigating through the dark.
#Physique ; He is well-built without being bulky or overly muscular. Blaze is also a bit taller than average.
#Mane and fur color and style ; His mane and tail are bi-colored; on one side it's a deep blue-violet, and on the other it's a bright red. His fur is a deep navy blue. His mane is messy in a jagged way, very similar to his father's hair.
#Eye color ; Light blue
#Other appearance details (optional) ; He has eyebrows.
#A more thorough description (optional) ;Midnight Blaze is tall and strong, and looks as much. He often wears a look of indifference or boredom, which makes him seem unapproachable. He keeps his mane and tail reasonably short, but also tries to style them in a fashion similar to how his father's hair looks.
#Personality ;
Blaze is not the friendliest pony. He is moody and dislikes ponies in general. He avoids social situations as much as possible, which isn't too hard, since he has few friends. He is also a big fan of sarcasm, another trait that keeps ponies at a distance. He is often bigoted, and can also be antagonistic, especially towards his sister, Rainbow Dash.
His relationship with the rest of his family is not quite so strained. A daddy's boy, he will do anything and everything his father asks him to, and needs his input on everything. Without his dad's advice, Blaze just doesn't know what to do with himself. Sometimes late at night, he wishes he could be his own pony. Such ideas are dismissed as whimsy upon waking.
Since he grew up with his father making all of his decisions, he is still a bit of a child inside. Well...more like a teenager. An immature, whiny teenager, with emphasis on immature and double emphasis on whiny. It's one reason that many ponies (such as Rainbow Dash) find him so annoying.
However, despite all of his enormous and numerous faults, he is incredibly loyal. He would never abandon anypony he cares about, no matter what. Even when he and Dash fight, he knows he will always love her, because she's his sister. He'll always come to her rescue when she needs him.
#History ;
Midnight Blaze had enjoyed being an only foal. He got everything he wanted and his parents loved him more than anything. Things changed when Rainbow Dash was born, though, and then Dawn came along, too. His mom was caught up with his little sisters and his dad worked all day. He spent a lot of time striving for attention, trying to be noticed when everypony was so busy doing anything but looking at him.
Another big change came when his father, Lightning Blitz, was laid off at work. He now had no job, and most days simply did nothing at all. Sunset Breeze was forced to get a job so that they could survive. She had absolutely no time for Midnight, since she had to take care of the fillies once she got home from work.
Things got worse and worse for Midnight. Once Dash learned to fly, both of his parents began ignoring him completely. His mother didn't have time to make dinner at night, so Blaze taught himself to cook, hoping to impress somepony. Unfortunately, it was in vain. They simply ate and got back to whatever was so much more interesting than he was. His father--his idol--was constantly with Rainbow, training her hard.
He finally caught a break one day when a letter came in the mail addressed to him. It was from the Junior Speedsters, inviting him to attend. Lightning Blitz immediately dropped Dash and turned his praise toward Blaze. He loved it. It seemed like his father really loved him. He always wanted to have this feeling. He decided he would never go against his father, for fear of angering him and losing his respect. Around this time, his mother was pregnant again; a fact he is aware of, but doesn't acknowledge most of the time. He didn't like the idea of having another sibling to steal his father's attention. This finalized his decision to join the Speedsters, and he left.
When Blaze returned, he found that Sunset was no longer pregnant, but nopony would talk about what had happened to the baby. Dash and Blitz were fighting, but Blaze hardly cared. His father was putting all of his attention in Midnight, and he was happy with that. Dash was sent to the Academy and Blaze was happy to have her gone. He could have his father's attention all to himself! He worked to keep in his father's good book, earning a fairly high-ranking job at the Weather Factory and accomplishing several feats in astronomy.
A few days after Rainbow had returned from the Academy, there was a shouting match. Blaze was in his room at the time, but he heard his sister storm out of the house, swearing to never return. He hasn't heard from her since.
A while after that, Midnight moved into a cozy apartment flat not too far from his parents' house, keeping his job at the Weather Factory. He occasionally leaves Cloudsdale to survey areas for data records or for other such business, but mostly stays home.The Roleplayer's Corner

#Sample RP ;
Midnight Blaze trotted through the crowded streets of Manehattan, trying very hard not to touch other ponies. He was surveying the area, trying to discover the source of the problems that the local weather team had been flooding Cloudsdale with for the past month. Apparently their own ponies weren't intelligent enough to identify the problems, so the Weather Factory sent one of their very best (if Blaze said so himself) experts on weather. His eyes were on the sky, searching for any visible issue. Midnight was hoping he wouldn't have to get up in the sky--Manehattan had decided they would put their own team on the problem on the same day he was investigating it, and he didn't want anywhere near those idiots.
He couldn't find any problem from where he was. Perhaps they really were just morons who didn't know what they were doing. He chuckled to himself, feeling satisfied with the explanation. Still, he had been sent here to do a job and he would do it thoroughly. And besides, he would be able to really rub it in their faces later.
Since his face was turned upwards, he had no way of seeing the other pony until he had collided with them. They both collapsed to the ground, slightly tangled together. Blaze quickly scrambled away from them, sneering down at them, and spoke in a rather unpleasant tone.
"Watch where you're going!"
