[/b] His faux-accent was dropped as he reprimanded himself. "Celestia! Oh, I hope I don't mess up during the play..." Twilight perked her ears slightly, looking up from her book. She gave her number one assistant a reassuring smile. She had a lot of practice with that, living with a baby dragon. "I'm sure you'll be just fine, Spike." As he turned his attention to her, she continued, hoping to reassure him and assuage his fears. "That's why you're practicing. And we've got plenty of time before the Hearth's Warming Eve pageant. And, if it helps, I think your accent is really coming along well."[/b] If there was one thing Twilight knew about Spike, it was how quickly his attitude changed when given a compliment.
#Name; Twilight Sparkle.
#Age Group; Older Teens.
#Gender; Female.
#Species; Unicorn.
#Cutie Mark;
#Occupation; Ponyville's Librarian by proxy, and Princess Celestia's personal student.
#Powers and Abilities;Being a Unicorn mare, Twilight is automatically assumed to have magical powers. However, due to her studious nature and access to dozens upon dozens of books on the subject, Twilight has a natural talent for the craft. Twilight's skill is so high, that it is implied (though never outright stated) that she is able to learn and effectively utilize spells simply by watching someone else do it. Throughout the series, she has shown frequent uses of teleportation, barriers, levitation (which seems to be the most common Unicorn magic), transfiguration, and has access to just about virtually anything so long as it has a spell behind it. When utilizing her magic, Twilight's horn will glow a magenta color. It is also important to note that Twilight is not perfect and will occasionally flub up with her spells, showing that at this point in the series she still has a long way to go. Another of Twilight's abilities comes in the form of organization and neatness, checklists being a sort of "thing" for her. As evidenced by her magical prowess, cutie mark and element of harmony, Twilight's special talent is magic.
#Physique; Less than average in terms of strength due to her bookworm nature.
#Mane and fur color and style;Twilight's mane's color is a moderate sapphire blue with moderate violet and brilliant rose streaks. Her coat is a pale, light grayish mulberry color. Twilight's mane is always kept properly straightened, and extends only a bit past her forward in a downward manner. Her horn is shown sticking out from between her hair.
#Eye color; Moderate violet.
#Personality ;Twilight is the most rational of her friends. She likes to look at things logically and doesn't often rush to conclusions. This trait likely comes from her years serving underneath Princess Celestia as her pupil, researching and studying magic. This education (and she is indeed a very educated pony, likely one of the most highly educated in all of Ponyville) contributes to her ability to think through problems and form solutions. In a way, her intelligence and learned nature make her worldly. In another way, however, Twilight is also very naïve and sheltered for those same reasons. She occasionally has difficulty with the nuances of social situations and even at one point wonders if having a giant tree crash through her home was a usual occurrence for a slumber party.
Similarly, though she has a talent for organization and thinking up plans, she also tends to lose face very quickly when things don’t go as expected. She will rapidly search through books to find a solution, or she will simply become slightly unhinged and suggest desperate solutions like constructing an exact copy of a town in a time frame of less than a minute.
Although she now loves her friends very much, when she first came to Ponyville she would have much rather studied or practiced magic than attempt to make friends. She simply did not view them as important and even went so far as to outright cringe when people referred to her as their friend. After a few adventures, however, she learned to appreciate friendship and her new found companions. She now cares for them more than anything. Yet, this doesn't mean that she won’t tell them when they are being ridiculous, occasionally utilizing sarcasm to get her point across. At the same time, however, she doesn't think herself better than her friends and tries to be very humble and modest with her magic. Despite the fact that she does consider herself the best magic user in all of Ponyville, she also doesn't consider it anything to brag about.
History: Long before venturing to Ponyville, Twilight lived in Canterlot under the tutelage of Equestria’s Princess Celestia. There she studied magic and honed her skills. She also researched myths and other topics to increase her general knowledge. It was one such instance that she discovered that on the thousand year anniversary of the Summer Sun Celebration, Nightmare Moon was to be freed from her prison in the moon and bring about eternal night. Concerned and believing the myth, Twilight sends a letter to Princess Celestia. Unfortunately, the princess seems to dismiss her fears and tells her to head over to Ponyville to inspect the Summer Sun Celebration preparations and to make some friends.
Twilight is rather peeved about this and claims that she will do her duty in inspecting the preparations but will absolutely not make friends. She has no time for that; she has to get to the library to try to stop the coming of Nightmare Moon. Thus, she goes around checking up on each component of the celebration. Unfortunately, each place she visits she suddenly makes a new friend. Or at the very least the other ponies think that Twilight is now their friend, because Twilight herself surely doesn't.
In the end, she doesn't have time to research further into the Elements of Harmony, the only things that can reseal Nightmare Moon in the moon. Lamentably, at the Summer Sun Celebration Nightmare Moon does appear as prophesied and she does bring about eternal night. The other ponies that Twilight ran into earlier in the day confront her about her knowing about Nightmare Moon and they all head off into the Everfree Forest to attempt to retrieve the Elements of Harmony. They go through several trials as each pony proves that they are sincere about their friendship with Twilight. When they reach the broken down castle that is rumored to contain the elements they not only encounter Nightmare Moon but discover that the elements are not active because the sixth one is missing.
Twilight and Nightmare Moon then enter into a battle as they teleport away to a different section of the castle. It’s only when Twilight hears the other ponies approaching from the stairwell that she realizes how to activate the Elements of Magic – what spark will set them off. It is the spark of friendship, and as soon as she realizes this the elements become active and the sixth one appears. Moreover each element corresponds to each pony and represents their spirits. Their powers combine to defeat Nightmare Moon.
There is a grand celebration, but Twilight is unhappy because she’s finally made friends but now has to leave them. Happily, Princess Celestia tells her that she may continue her studies in Ponyville, and report to her what she learns about friendship while there. This, then, becomes Twilight’s new duty.
After this she learns new things about friendship and reports them to Celestia. In one case she realizes that if she cannot give tickets to “The Grand Galloping Gala”, a very high profile party, to all of her friends then none of them should go because it wasn’t fair. In another she reports about her friend, Applejack. Applejack loves to help people out, but is stubborn about receiving help herself, despite Twilight’s attempts to assist her. In the end Applejack does accept help, and Twilight tells Princess Celestia that sometimes everyone needs help from their friends.
Later, when one of Rainbow Dash’s friends is found to be mean and unnecessarily cruel, she learns that she should trust her friend’s judgment about people, and to listen to what they have to say. This theme comes back again later when Twilight doesn't listen to Pinkie Pie’s explanation for how to rid the town of parasprites, little insect-like animals that eat anything and everything. Eventually Ponyville is nearly destroyed before Pinkie ends up getting rid of them.
Twilight also learns that being proud of her magical abilities and using them to help people does not make her a boaster or a bragger and that this would not make people hate her. Thanks to this she manages to pull off the very impressive feat of defeating an Ursa Minor using her magical talent. There are cases when she cannot use her magic, however, like when she helps wrap up winter. Fortuitously, however, she discovers that she has another talent in the form of organization and helps every pony in Ponyville bring in spring on time thanks to that.

Some of the biggest events involve the Grand Galloping Gala fiasco, Discord's return and subsequent resealing, and the disastrous invasion of the Changelings, which was prevented to make room for the wedding between Princess Cadence (Twilight's old foalsitter), and Shining Armor. (Twilight's older brother)
But with the return of King Sombra nigh, Twilight just might face one of her toughest obstacles yet...The Roleplayer's Corner
#Nickname; Twilight, Twily, what have you. The name I'd be using in the cbox would be Twilight Sparkle.
#Age; 20s.
#Gender; Undisclosed.
#How did you find us?; I remember punching "My Little Pony RP" into google, and either bouncing to one of those sites (possibly a dead one) and ending up here or sifting through Google and finding this place.
#Sample RP ;It was a typical night in the Golden Oaks Library. In other words, Twilight Sparkle was muzzle-deep in a book. Snow was falling gently outside, thanks to the work of the Pegasi. It really felt like winter. Spike cleared his throat, but Twilight knew he wasn't trying to get her attention. And so she continued reading, flipping to the next page of her book with her magic while adjusting her position on the floor to get more comfortable. She was resting her head on her front knees while reading. "Once upon a time," Spike began, slipping into his faux-Trottingham accent, "long before the peaceful rule of Equestria..." He paused for a moment, then slapped his forehead with a claw. "Celestia!"
And this time was no exception, as the dragon turned from worried to bashful. "Really? You think it's good?" "It's fantastic,"[/b] Twilight replied. It was a little bit of a lie: he still had room for improvement. But it was one she was willing to make in order to make the little guy feel better about himself. "Oh, gee, thanks Twilight,"[/b] Spike said as he kicked a foot at the wooden floor. He seemed to have brightened up quite a bit at the compliment, and Twilight was happy to see that. Her friends meant everything to her, and Spike was certainly no exception. In fact, one really could call him her very first friend, aside from her brother. She was about to go back to her book, but Spike was interested in keeping the conversation going. "Hey, how's your research going?" And that was certainly a way to keep Twilight's attention. Looking up from the book again and back to Spike, the excitement on her face was obvious to anyone. "Oh, it's great!" she said, the obvious excitement also bleeding into her tone. "I knew that I could really get into character by reading biographies and history books! Clover the Clever is really interesting!" It was fairly obvious Spike didn't share her interest.
But that was one thing that went over Twilight's head as she continued. "I think there's even some things in here I can use to improve the pageant! Did you know that Clover was the student of Starswirl the Bearded? I'm thinking of adding a line to show that off." And that was just like Twilight – add a bit of completely obscure history to make things more accurate... and to teach ponies a bit of history. "That's great, Twi," Spike said, a little unsure about asking now. But that wouldn't deter the purple unicorn. "And did you know that, after the founding of Equestria, that..." It would continue on for a while, by the sounds of it. Spike prepared himself. The lights in the library that night didn't go out until well after Spike's bedtime.[/justify]
