#Name; Princess Mi Amore Cadenza (Cadence)
#Age Group ; Adult
#Gender ; Female
#Species; Alicorn, originally pegasus
#Cutie Mark ; A heart-shaped crystal with a multi-faced reflective center above a few strands of gold lace
#Occupation ; At the moment? Holding up a magical barrier and keeping an ancient evil out of a previously lost Empire. Otherwise, being a Princess and advisor. Previously, she was a student of Celestia.
#Powers and Abilities ; Cadence can fly and manipulate weather as well as any pegasus can. She also holds vast magical power, stemming from her ascended alicorn nature. Her specialty is the spreading of love of any kind, and her proficiencies lie in resolving conflicts and awakening dormant feelings. While she CAN create love between two ponies, she rarely, if ever, does. In fact, for many such problems, she prefers to avoid using her magic altogether and instead relies on her own mediating skills, as using magic to simply poof away problems feels, to her, forced.
#Physique ; Cadence is tall and slender, sporting a form that isn’t suited very well for too much physical action. Her wingspan is larger than average, and her horn is long and pointed.
#Mane and fur color and style ; Cadence’s mane is dark purple, streaked with moderate rose and pale gold. Her mane, if it were straight, would reach the ground if it didn’t curl up at the end.
#Eye color ; Greyish Violet
#Other appearance details ; Cadence’s crown, though currently signifying her status as an alicorn rather than any political power, sits atop her head most of the time.
#Personality ;
Cadence is a soft soul in general, caring greatly for those around her, even if some of them seem as though they don’t deserve it to others. She likes to give the benefit of the doubt to any offenders if possible, but when it comes down to solid cases of good versus evil, she won’t hesitate to act accordingly. Her positivity towards everyone in general can sometimes cause a problem, when she supports the parties on both sides of an argument. Eventually, however, she realizes that a decision must be made, and she will almost always side with the one that helps the largest number of individuals.
She comes off as overly trusting sometimes, as she is incredibly cordial when meeting anyone. However, when it comes down to it she does require at least a little proof of intent before she’ll let them into her inner circle. She tends to subtly observe everything, even if she appears to just be doing her Princessly job of sitting there and looking pretty. Her time as a babysitter did have an effect on her, teaching her to keep her composure at all times and, if action was necessary, to be calm and firm. Out of the public eye, Cadence is essentially child-like. She loves having fun and playing games. She’s also entirely devoted to her friends and family, especially her newly married husband.
#History ;
Cadence’s origins are shrouded in some mystery. She was found one day in a forest near the small town of Dappleshore. The small pegasus was adopted by a pair of Earth Ponies, who raised her to respect the ‘power of love’. She actually grew up a bit wary of the, let’s face it, rather hokey notion. Still, she respected that, at least, all ponies deserve to be loved. As a filly, she discovered her ability to mediate arguments fairly well, and fix problems between two arguing parties. After solving a major problem between a married couple, thereby saving their marriage, she found that her cutie mark had appeared.
She set herself in the town as a bit of a counselor, usually helping younger ponies or foals who wanted someone to bounce their feelings off of and to help them understand what they were feeling and what they needed to do to fix whatever problems they were having. After only a few years of doing this, a major event shook the small village. Cadence’s workload took a sharp spike. She found more and more disgruntled ponies approaching her, and she found it more and more difficult to resolve the issues. She found this particularly strange, but being a teenager her word didn’t hold quite as much weight as she would have wished.
As the situation became more and more dire, a unicorn calling herself “Prismia” appeared in the town, wearing a strange necklace. By the time she arrived, the rest of the town simply didn’t care enough to take notice. Prismia’s necklace was a powerful artifact, and it amplified the hate and malice present in her heart, turning her into a monster. She used the power of the necklace to steal the love of those she came in contact with, essentially drying them up. When the conflict came to a head, Prismia stood in the center of town, actively and openly draining the love from every individual in town. Cadence, though scared out of her mind, stomped right up to her and stood her ground against the maelstrom of evil power. Instead of fighting, however, she realized that she felt sorry for Prismia, and offered her love willingly, if it would help ease the pain she must have been feeling.
The necklace did it’s work, pulling the essence of love straight out of her. However, when the energy was absorbed into the necklace, it reacted differently. The artifact synced with Cadence, removing itself from Prismia and altering its structure, enhancing her love and giving it back tenfold. After returning the other townsfolk to normal, both Cadence and Prismia disappeared.
When she awoke, Cadence found herself floating in an ethereal realm. She instinctively flapped her wings, but found that she wasn’t, in fact, falling. Before she had time to take in her surroundings, she noticed another presence. Assuming it was Prismia, she leapt to attention. Instead of the tainted unicorn, however, she came face to face with Princess Celestia herself.
The Princess smiled at her as she floundered to find the proper words to introduce herself, but none was necessary. The princess told her that she had done an amazing thing, and that the power she’d found in her love held more power than any other she’d seen before. She said that Cadence had a great destiny ahead of her, and she had the ability to affect an even greater destiny through others. When Cadence mentioned that she didn’t understand, Celestia only smiled and said “Come to Canterlot. Your ticket is waiting for you at home. Take your time, it takes a little while to get used to.”
Afterwards, she awoke with a start, finding herself back in Dappleshore. She looked around frantically, not entirely sure what had happened or how long she had been asleep (She assumed she had been asleep). The townsfolk stared in awe at her when she appeared, and it wasn’t until she asked that they informed her that she now had a long, slender horn sticking out of her head.
The initial panic attack took about 3 hours to subside. After that, she very, very calmly tested her powers out. The next day after the window repairpony left, she decided it would be best to wait until she found a proper instructor. Finding no such instructor in her hometown, she guessed it would be best to wait until she arrived at Canterlot.
It was a tearful departure. Canterlot was, after all, quite a distance away. She boarded the train. promising to visit as often as possible, and she was off to Canterlot. Upon arriving, she found that she had been assigned a magic tutor. She was taught to control her magic, and she learned fairly quickly. She also found her specialty in spreading love.
Upon being assigned as a babysitter to Twilight Sparkle, she actually didn’t question it. She revelled in having the almost familial ties to the little filly, and she enjoyed every second. She also enjoyed the company of one Shining Armor, Twilight’s older brother. He was around her age, and the two became fast friends. Eventually, the two started dating, though it took a valiant effort from Shining, and a lot more courage than it did for him to anger a the guards as he occasionally did, for that to happen.
And one day, after Twilight left the city and the two had grown closer than ever, he popped the question.
Their marriage was well recorded, as well as all of the....complications....surrounding it.
Cadence couldn’t be happier in her marriage. She loves Shining with all her heart which, considering her status and specialty, is quite a lot. Currently, she is preparing to see Princess Celestia, who has called her with news that must be urgent, as it was sent formally and with a royal seal, from a royal courier who was quite out of breath. She doesn’t quite know what to expect, nor does she know what’s right around the corner for her.The Roleplayer's Corner

Thump Thump Thump! Cadence turned her head as the knocking at her door interrupted her concentration. She’d been staring at her cabinet, inside of which several teas were lined up. She was deciding which she wanted. However, the pounding held a sense of urgency behind it, so she decided the tea would wait. She trotted to the door and opened it, finding a rather winded stallion holding a missive which showed the royal seal. He bowed as she took it and hurried off after a thank you from the Princess. She blinked and closed the door, looking over the letter.
It came directly from Celestia herself, naturally. She had written a bit quicker than normal, her writing a bit skewed, the curves a bit messier than usual. Cadence rolled the letter back up and levitated it over to the coffee table with care. “Shining!” She called. Of course, he was on duty. She’d have to meet him there, she assumed. She nervously peered at the letter. What could it mean? Their honeymoon felt like it was just yesterday, but already they were being called for something with such immediate necessity. She took a deep breath and swung her hoof forward as she let it out. Alright, Cadence, get a hold of yourself. She shook her head and nodded, straightening up her legs and dropping her shoulders back. You’re a Princess, now act like one. She nodded at her own internal scolding, then turned and headed out the door, spreading her wings and taking flight for the castle.
