Rain Dancer has a delightfully offbeat and upbeat way of looking at everything. Very much a free spirit, she often listens to her heart more than her head. That's why she's sometimes doing something silly. She is hard to understand at times, as she lives in her own little world. Her imagination is wild, and often spawns interesting art and stories. She is best described as sweet, silly, and sympathetic - always ready to lend an ear to a friend in need. She often gives good advice, although at times her advice can be... well, not so good. She's an easygoing soul who is eager to please and makes friends easily. She will talk to anyone and try to make friends everywhere she goes.
She has a love for water, and will often play in the puddles on the ground after a rain storm. She can normally be seen lounging on a cloud with her saddlebags full of parchment and ink, ready for whatever she dreams up next. When the inspiration hits her, she will go into an intense zone. She normally won't break out of it until her drawing or writing is finished. Once she finishes a piece of art, she likes to display it around her home for all of her friends to see.
Along with her love for water, she also loves to fly. Her movements are graceful as she soars through the air, maneuvering her way around clouds. She doesn't care much for speed, but prefers slow and steady as she flies.
#History ;
Rain Dancer was born to a pegasus couple in Cloudsdale. Both of her parents worked in the weather factory for as long as she could remember. It was apparent almost immediately that Rain Dancer was a little... different from other ponies. She would often talk to herself and act bizarre while she played with her toys. She would often talk to her parents about wild adventures that she had with her imaginary friend "Lightning Flare". According to the young filly, he was a normal Pegasus with black hair and red fur and a cowboy hat. However, this "Lightning Flare" put ideas into her head that got her into trouble... a lot.
Once she began school, Lightning Flare became even more troublesome. With new "victims" to pick on, there was much more mischief to go around. She would often trip classmates, or hide things in their desk, or put glue on their seats- you know, normal prank stuff. More days than not, she would end up having to stay late after school with the teacher and wait for her parents to come get her. Things at home got worse. Her parents couldn't stand to hear the name of their daughters imaginary friend, and things became hostile around the house.
After realizing what her relationship with Lightning Flare was doing to her family, she decided to say goodbye to her mischievous ways- and to her best friend. After her friend left their lives, Rain calmed down and became the pony she is today. However, her imagination was still as strong as ever. Instead of resurrecting Lightning Flare, she let her imagination out through art and writing. The house came to life with her paintings, and she had books full of her short stories.
It wasn't long before she began flight school. She wasn't the strongest flyer at first. She didn't take much interest in flying. She would much rather be at home drawing- but what would the other ponies say about a pegasus that couldn't fly? She continued practicing half-heartedly. One day, after a long day in class, Rain Dancer gathered her things and began her flight home. She stopped in her tracks as she saw the setting sun shining on the clouds.
She quickly landed on a cloud and pulled out her ink and parchment. Her quill dashed across the paper, painting the colors of the sunset reflected on the clouds. As she put on the finishing touches, the sky grew darker. It wasn't until she had gotten home that she realized she had gotten her cutie mark. From that day on, she expressed herself in her art and let everything out that was contained in her head.
Once she was old enough, she went to work in the weather factory where she could create the rain she enjoyed so much, and still be able to work on her paintings. Paintings and drawings cover every wall in her home.The Roleplayer's Corner

The air smelled fresh and crisp as the sun began to rise. Last nights rain drops still hung to the trees as Rain Dancer stretched and emerged from her tree perch. She didn't normally sleep on the ground, but after the rainstorm they had cooked up the night before, she just couldn't miss out! She shook the rain drops from her pelt and stretched her mouth wide in a yawn. Early morning sunlight filtered through the leaves of the tree, casting red and orange shadows across her back.
Rain Dancer stretched her wings and lifted off. The chill morning air filled her lungs as she rose over the treetops. She took a moment to admire the sunrise. Dew sparkled in the growing light. She swooped back down to the ground, landing feet first in a puddle. SPLASH! Water went everywhere. She giggled with delight. A shiver ran down her spine as the water covered her legs. Brrr! It's getting cold out!
She loved Autumn. It normally meant long nights and lots of beautiful leaves. It was a perfect season for art! Speaking of which... She returned to her overnight perch and grabbed her saddlebags. She settled herself on a park bench and pulled out her parchment and ink. Taking the quill in her teeth, she began to draw the trees around her. The morning sun cast perfect light, illuminating every leaf on the tree before her. She splattered different colors of ink onto the page. Red, orange, yellow, green, and brown covered the page.
She stepped back and admired her work. It looked like Autumn had melted into her parchment. She packed everything into her saddlebag and took off from the park bench. She cast one more glance at the trees before she entered the layer of clouds. When she got back home, she hung her new painting on the wall with many others. She took a step back and admired her work. There were many paintings of sunsets and trees, but scattered across the wall were some strange looking creatures from her imagination.
Her gaze stopped on a painting of a large pegasus with black hair and red fur. Most of his face was covered by his tilted cowboy hat. She touched her hoof to it tenderly.
"Oh Lightning Flare..."
She pulled herself away from her wall of art and grabbed her work coat. She cast a glance over her shoulder before closing the door behind her, and flying off to the Weather factory.
