#Personality ;
The first thing most ponies notice about her is what motivates her actions, acquisition of possessions and wealth. Even her attempts to bribe her way into the Wonderbolts were due to the potential greater profit the uniform brings. This love of money has made her manipulative but charming. She has a knack for finding how to get what she wants. She will manipulate other ponies' emotions, pull leverage on them, intimidate them, or anything else to achieve her goal. Because she is a member of the Cloudsdale Aristocracy, she rarely resorts to intimidation and rather uses allure and her winning smile.
Make no mistake, she is evil in nature. But she does not live as flippant as some of her teammates. She lives by a strict code of 90+ rules. The rules do grow, but only when she encounters a situation that the current list does not account for. She will never deviate from these rules, even if they overlap with other rules. She has a deep fondness for Nightshade, the Shadowbolts Captain; partially due to her being the only other level headed member of the group, partially because she is the only one she has met that hasn't looked down on her singing.
Singing? That doesn't quite fit with what you told us thus far. Well there are layers to her. Her singing comes from growing up in the aristocracy. A gentle mare must be serene in body, mind, and voice. She doesn't sing often anymore because of an incident at the Wonderbolt Academy. She now reserves that for only certain ponies, and that is a very short list. She does sing at lounges, saloons, and bars to earn some bits for the team, but never in big spotlights where she can be identified by the elite.
She is resentful of the Wonderbolts for ignoring the bribes she attempted to use to get her higher in the program. She doesn't mind being the least skilled flier of the team; she often finds herself the most useful. Her silver tongue ending confrontations before them even began. Even though she doesn't show it, she is highly protective and loyal to each member of her team, even when she wishes them dead. This is particularly true for Blueball Blitz, who she looks after as if BB was her younger sister.
Her favorite food is cake, absolutely detesting pies. She sees pies as a lower class abomination to all that is pastry. A pie is two pieces of dough that wrap what is topping for cakes. Cakes are light air clouds of deliciousness that are decadently coated with frosting or fondant and can be as much art as it is food.
#History ;
Born into the Cloudsdale Aristocracy, Stars was named as such because as a foal her eyes would sparkle like the night sky. She grew up pretty much your average rich kid, studying music and manners, practicing music, playing outside, and home schooling. One day while playing outside, she ran head first into a gazebo post and knocked out a tooth. Her mother told her that if she put it under her pillow at night, one of the Princess's servants will come and take the tooth, but leave a nice surprise.
Of course being a very young foal, she took this hook, line, and sinker. When she woke up in the morning she was confused by what she found, a bit. She asked her father what it was and instead of telling her, he figured it was better to show her. He took her to town to a candy store and told her to pick out a piece of candy. She saw her favorite, Blue Blitz Balls, and went straight for them. The owner of the store informed her that to get a piece of candy she would have to give him the bit, which she happily did. She figured that bits bought candy. And you got bits by putting teeth under your pillow.
While playing with some of the other foals that lived nearby, she punched one to get a tooth from him. This earned her her first punishment ever, but also highlighted a path she would take in her never ending search for bits. When she was released from being grounded, she had learned a bit more about earning bits. She began working around the community to acquire bits so she could go buy candy, and eventually she started getting sick of just candy and started buying more expensive items. This came at a higher price. She had to earn more bits.
Struggling with keeping up with her acquisition of the fun things, she started to think of how a young foal could make more. While thinking she watched as a stallion made a deal with another stallions and he earned himself a big bag of bits for some item. As the other stallion walked away, the item started leaking and the first was gone. She could earn more bits by being underhanded? Putting this to the test, she started to sell lemonade at the normal price, but would use salt instead of sugar, and then have drinks of water on hand for a bit. She did earn quite enough, enough to buy her the My Little Gecko Duchess Periwinkle doll she wanted. Soon she was making more trips to the cake and toy store with the funds she made.
It wasn't long after that she earned her cutie mark, three star emblazoned bits. She started making more bits than she could spend at one shot and just started to collect them. Soon she started to get the need to make more than she currently was. Then she remembered the Wonderbolts. They got a lot of endorsement deals and often received free items just for being Wonderbolts. That was for her. She applied to join and was actually offered a position in the Wonderbolts Academy. That is where she met Nightshade. While singing to herself before bed, some of the other recruits started throwing things at her to be quiet after their long day. Stars went running off to the restroom and locked herself in a stall to cry.
Nightshade was the one to check on her and told her that she actually enjoyed the song. Stars just smiled to her from behind the door, and she finished the song for Shade. At that point she decided to reserve her songs for only those she felt was kind enough. She trained hard and every night, she would sing to Shade so they could both relax. Then came the day of Nightshade's accident. Some ponies were injured, and Stars couldn't get close enough to comfort her friend. When she was kicked out, the bit generating pony attempted to bribe the captain with quite a large sum to keep her in. This earned Stars the boot as well.
A few moons later, she was approached at her home by her friend with an offer to join the newly formed Shadowbolts. Stars was a little unsure at first, until she realized that basically she would be the one in charge of the group finances given the other four in the room. Plus more time with "The Boss" wasn't a bad thing.

The day had been long. Stars just walked past 3/5's of her team involved in whatever they were doing and right to her room. All she wanted to do right now was crash on the bed and not wake up for a day. As soon as she felt her head hit her pillow full of bits, there was a loud crash outside her door and the sound of arguing. The crash sounded expensive. This though just caused a flip on her; mainly she flipped the pillow from laying on it to laying it over her head to drown out the sound of bits being lost.
The sounds didn't cease, they only started to sound more expensive. Each crash and hit was like all her work for today was just pitched down the drain pipe. Table shattering, a knocked over stand, dishes shattering. Then she heard drywall crumbling. This brought a small tear to her eye. She wouldn't be able to repair everything she heard with what she had raised today. Rule 47. Sleep can interfere with profit. . Getting up from her bed, she grabbed one of her cases with her saloon outfit and walked back out the door. Obviously ignoring the rest of her team as she left.
