VERYarrogant at times, Rarity is very picky when it comes to anything regarding fashion and her personal beauty. This is reflected in the way she speaks, moves, dresses, and all around presents herself. This can lead to problems as she can be a bit nitpicky when her friends don’t share her views on how to present themselves, and she tries to take control and ‘increase their fabulosity.’
Rarity likes to keep things in a certain order. Not necessarily always neat and tidy, as her idea room will show you, but organized to her own standards, with everything in its place so it’s easily accessible when she’s working on designs. If things get put out of order in her daily routine, she can get a bit panicky.
Embodying the Element of Generosity, Rarity has been known to give up things to ponies who need them, or taking time out of a busy schedule to do minor fixes to a friends outfit, or make entirely new ones at the drop of a hat. Rarity’s general Generosity has been known to be contagious, and others give up their own things when the need arises.
Rarity's feelings toward her sister, Sweetie Belle, fluctuate depending on the day. These feelings are almost always positive, but there have been times the little Unicorn gets on the fashionista's nerves. When these days happen, Rarity still keeps her composure, and usually just gives Sweetie Belle some bits and tells her to have fun with her friends, which nets Rarity a few hours of silence.
Followed by a few hours of headache depending on what trouble the Crusaders get in while they're out.
Rarity was born in a small house in Ponyville, where she first learned her love for fashion. Creating costumes for the School Play, Rarity wasn’t quite happy with her designs, and attempted to make new ones, to no avail. When she thought all hope was lost, a spark ignited in her horn, and a magic dragged her along for quite some time until she found a gigantic rock.
Rarity stared upon this “Dumb Rock” with anguish, until a loud burst of sound echoed through the sky, accompanied by a halo of rainbow colored light. This shockwave of sound caused the rock in front of Rarity to burst open, revealing gems and thus giving Rarity the inspiration she needed to make the costumes even more fabulous, thus earning her cutie mark.
Selected by the Princess herself to be part of the Summer Sun Celebration Planning Committee, Rarity was placed in charge of decorations… a job that was interrupted by her new friend
and poor fashion victimTwilight Sparkle.
Rarity leads a normal life making dresses, caring for her dear sister, and spending time with friends. Though, this life does get a little more hectic when deadlines are quickly approaching, and she can’t find the right shade of mauve to go on the dress for the order that absolutely has to be done by the end of the day!The Roleplayer's Corner

Rarity sat in her boutique, staring intensely at a Ponnequin. The blank pony seemed to stare back at her, mocking her for the lack of dress upon it. A light flared on her horn and pieces of fabric flooded the air around her, passing across various parts of the ponnequin as she concentrated, various “Hmms” and “Hahs” coming from the fashionista as she pondered.
After a brief few moments, the floating fabric pieces flew away from the Ponnequin and Rarity jumped at it, pushing herself face to face with the thing with a sneer, a wordless challenge to an unwilling opponent.
Soon, Rarity smiled, looking around her studio for a brief moment and finding the fabric she needed, floating the blue beauty over to the Ponnequin. A needle and thread floated past, giving it a lovely stitch up the side. Another piece of fabric floated over, this time an amethyst purple, giving the dress a flowing gown-like appearance while keeping it small and simple. Finally, the piece de resistance, a small broach on the shoulder of the gown, tying everything together.
Rarity smiled once again at her work, and gently levitated the dress off of the ponnequin, bringing it to the front of her boutique as the bell on her door dinged. “Welcome to Carousel Boutique~” She said in her singsongy voice, looking over the brim of her work glasses at the customer. “Oh, Miss Topaz, welcome~ I just finished your gown and I believe you’ll absolutely love it. Come, let’s see how it looks on you.”
