Spectral Mist is a quiet mare until she gets to know you as a friend. She often worries that she might say or do something stupid and people will judge her for it. But if she feels like you're not overly judgmental she'll come out of her shell relatively quickly. She can be quite nice.
Around the Shadowbolts her worse traits become even worse.
She constantly double checks herself while in their presence, worried about making a fool of herself out of them. She has a hard time talking around them and actually showing off her skills. . She gets massive cases of stage fright in front of a regular crowd, merely being in the presence of one Shadowbolt makes her wings lock up to her sides and hardly even able to fly, she's that nervous.
Like: exotic fruit, bat ponies, grey is her favorite color, The Shadowbolts
Dislike: bright neon colors, hay, hats, crowds
#History ;Spectral Mist was born in Cloudsdale. Her life was relatively normal until Flight School where it was quickly discovered she couldn't clear a cloud to save her life. Every time she tried it only turned into mist. And try as she like, it wouldn't turn into anything else.
She was teased mercilessly for it, and the only friend she had was a foal in the same boat with her. His wings were too big, so he couldn't really fly. This foals name was Stardust. They were decent friends until the day the bullies offered her a deal. She could stay hanging out with him, or she could help them pull off a prank and they'd let her hang with them. Spectral Mist, desperate to fit in, decided to do it. After all. It was just a prank after all. After the prank ended up almost killing him the bullies pointed the hoof at Spectral Mist for all the blame. And she, believing she deserved everything that happened to her for what she had done, took all the blame. She got expelled from the school system.
Her parents, not having much money, but still wanting her to have an education, did not have many options. They had Spectral Mist move in with a relative in the Swamp town.
It wasn't the safest of places, but it was her home and she loved it. It was so much better than Cloudsdale. She was not teased. And what was perhaps quite good, she did not have to face the friend she betrayed...
Spectral Mist found out her special talent when she went outside of the city limits because she had heard a story in class about a filly who had found an abandoned birdie and raised it as their own. She'd always wanted a pet of her own, particularly since her parents had made it adamantly clear she'd never have a sibling. She wanted company, a friend. Anyone.
She quickly found herself lost and in a very dangerous area. Frightened as she was, Spectral Mist used her ability to make fog to hide herself from the scary beasties of the Swamp. When the Search and Rescue crew arrived she blew the fog away and revealed herself... And her shiny new cutiemark!
Spectral Mist knew her talent saved her, and was happy to finally find her special talent. But she was conflicted. When she had lived in Cloudsdale she'd always been teased for it. She was conflicted and desperate to prove them wrong. She wasn't someone who wasn't even worth being called a pegasus, she was so much more. Spectral Mist practiced her talent, and even went into shaping the mist. It was much like shaping clouds, but much more complex since the fog its a lot less obedient and is all around you. But she practiced long and hard. She would prove to them all she was a worthy pegasus pony.
On the day of her 16th birthday she received a ticket to a Shadowbolt show as a present.. She'd seen the Wonderbolts as a little filly. But the Shadowbolts were different than the regal imperialistic looking Wonderbolts. They were rough and tumble, they fought for every inch of respect from the pegasi. They were the underdog. And in them she saw herself, as the filly teased by those haughty fillies and foals, and as the young mare watching them still trying to hard to be worthy of the species of the pegasi. Spectral Mist wanted to be one of them.
If she could be as good as them she could be one of them. And maybe. Just maybe, she'd find that they were just like her. Birds of a feather. She has trained hard since then, hoping that maybe one day she might get the chance to prove her stuff to them. The Roleplayer's Corner

#Sample RP ;Damn it! She couldn't see over anyone! Spectral Mist stood on her toes, trying to catch even a little glimpse of the Shadowbolts as they strode through on red carpet. She looked at her wings dubiously, figuring it was her only shot... Maybe this time it wouldn't happen. She closed her eyes tightly as she flew up, then opened them. The moment she saw the Shadowbolts her wings trembled nervously.
And the moment one of them looked in her direction, it was all over. Her wings snapped shut to her sides and she plummeted to the ground. Which wasn't a far fall, but still.
Spectral Mist had to taste the grim taste of defeat at this. Which tasted like dirt. Some had gotten in her mouth and now it was all sandy and disgusting. She sighed, not bothering to get up from the ground until the Shadowbolts had well passed. What hope did she ever have in joining the Shadowbolts if she couldn't even fly around them being so nervous?
