#Personality ;
Misty Fly is a very friendly individual. She just likes to surround herself with wonderful ponies and get to know them. They each have a story to tell and Misty wants to be the ear that listens to those stories. She doesn’t care if they’re a changeling, diamond dog, or Princess. She’ll give them the same smile and the same greeting. Everyone is equal in her eyes.
Misty likes simple things. It goes back to her father and the time they’d share together. She’ll drink cheap beer and buy frozen pizzas from the store even though she has the money to go out to five star establishments. Misty adores being in the rain or in any kind of water. All of it gives her pleasant memories.
Misty Fly is a Wonderbolt and feels very comfortable with her role. She knows she’s not one of the fan favorites like Soarin’ or Fleetfoot but she’s happy for them. They aren’t just coworkers; they’re her buddies! Misty Fly trains a little harder than she should just because she feels that she has something to prove. Misty knows she’s surrounded by some of the best flyers in all of Equestria so she has to work that much harder to prove that she belongs with them.
One of Misty’s best friends in the whole wide world is Spitfire of whom she affectionately calls Cap’n. Spitfire is the one pony she will confide everything to. She loves to flop across Spitfire’s back and just ride along to wherever she’s going. It’s trust and affection. Deep down, Misty sees Spitfire a little as her mother figure considering her own mother wasn’t much of one. Spitfire’s still her best friend and she’d do anything for her.
Misty Fly is extremely selfless. Most of the money she makes as a Wonderbolt goes to charity and she’s been known to take her free time to do volunteer work. Misty feels that with all of the good fortune that has gone her way it’d be a crime not to give some of it to ponies who needed it more than she did. She was a Wonderbolt. She got to eat three full meals and sometimes extra. Some of those ponies were dying or homeless or starving. It just doesn’t feel right to her to do nothing about it.
This little angel used to be a party animal and that streak still lies underneath it all. If ponies invite her to a rave, she’ll shake her flank with the best of them. Her number one goal in a party is to make sure everyone’s having fun. If some ponies aren’t having fun, it’ll just keep spreading until the whole party falls apart. Misty tries to keep everyone happy even if sometimes that means she herself loses out a little. That doesn’t just apply to parties either. Misty lets her selflessness go a little far sometimes…
Misty isn’t one to force a relationship. She likes to let the wind take her where it will. If she finds somepony nice, awesome. If she’s destined to grow old and alone, then that’s the way it has to be. Misty is definitely a believer in destiny. Something’s propelling them forwards and life and it’s Misty’s job to follow that plan. Other than that… Misty isn’t sure. She’s not super experienced in the love department but expect her to give it her all.
#History ;
Misty Fly was born in Manehattan. Her mother was the VP of Secretariet’s Secret and her father worked in a factory that built carts. From a young age, Misty was forced by her mother to take ballet lessons. The young filly actually adored it but the mechanical ferocity in which her mother forced it on her made her uneasy. Every day after school, her mother would have Misty practice. Every time they finished practice, Misty would run off to spend time with her dad who would be ironically hiding from her mother.
As the years passed, Misty wanted to try other types of dancing but her mother refused. She was adamant that Misty kept with ballet. With her natural talent for it, Misty was sure to get her cutie mark in it. Misty just wanted the freedom to make her own decisions. On the night of one of her biggest performances, Misty twisted her ankle. She was unable to perform. The moment they got home her mother started yelling at her. Her father snapped and yelled back. Misty hid in her room. Once it all ended, her mother had left.
Misty and her father bonded more than ever once her mother was gone. They’d spend long afternoons just talking to each other about this and that. The biggest thing her father wanted Misty to know was that she could do anything she set out to do and that nobody could tell her what she had to do.
Then, Misty participated in the event of raising the water up to make clouds. Misty wasn’t the best by far but she tried her best. She loved all the water and lost herself a little in the event. They had more than enough wing power to do it so she may have just let herself go with the flow and dance about on the currents. Afterwards, she saw that a Wonderbolt had been overseeing the event. The Wonderbolt winked at her and said she was pretty good at skydancing. In that moment, she felt a strange feeling of purpose enter her like she’d never experienced before. This was what she was destined to do. She was going to skydance with the Wonderbolts. On that day, she got her cutie mark.
However, with her mother gone and with Misty getting her first taste of freedom, Misty got swept up in the crazy world of partying. That didn’t stop her from trying to get into the Wonderbolts, though. Misty tried and she failed. Misty failed the Wonderbolt Academy six times over the years before she decided it was impossible.
She asked her father for advice. He told her that she was a brilliant young mare but she got distracted sometimes. He told her that even though he had said she could be anything she wanted to be, that only came with hard work and focus. He believed that she could do it, though. He was proud of the mare she was. They shared a beer and Misty set to work. She actually stopped all of her partying and focused. She trained as hard as she could and let nothing get in her way. On her next attempt at becoming a Wonderbolt, she got in.
Once Misty got in, she felt a camaraderie with these ponies that couldn’t be shook. Those first days as a Wonderbolt were tough but rewarding to her. This was where she belonged. Eventually, she made show team. Even got past a little fiasco with this cute unicorn whacking her in the jaw. Now she lives in Cloudsdale. She does charity work and hangs out with her Bolts whenever she can. She gives being a Wonderbolt her all.
She still has time to visit her old dad, though.The Roleplayer's Corner

Rain… Oh, Celestia, do I love the rain… The cold droplets hitting your fur and soaking through… Don’t even get me started on if a slow breeze blows through! Misty smiled to herself as she sat out in a field. Water poured from the sky and weighed down blades of grass with each impact. All Misty wanted to do was lay there until it ended. It was nice to have the opportunity to do this.--------
Misty lowered her goggles and flapped her wings to get ready. The blue and yellow suit clung tightly to her form for all to see. Her teammates were at her side and they were all getting ready. All Misty could think about was her mother’s voice. ”That was horrendous. You’ll never be the best with this kind of effort. Again.” Again… “Misty! Are you ready?”--------
Misty didn’t have any responsibilities out here in the rain. She didn’t have any nagging thoughts or any rules. It was just the rain and Misty Fly. She slowly pushed herself onto her hooves and opened her wings. Maybe… Maybe she could dance. Just for the fun of it. Nobody was watching except maybe a bird or two. She’d give them a good show!--------
Misty blinked widely. ”U-Uh, y-yes, Cap’n!” “You don’t sound ready... “ She bit her lip as Spitfire made her way over. Of course she wasn’t ready. This was her first performance on the show team. Misty didn’t often let nerves get to her but this was her moment. She either made it or failed spectacularly. “Hey, Misty… Look at me.”--------
The soaked pegasus closed her eyes and got into position. The patter of rain sent a rhythm to her ears. She could dance to it. Her wings bowed out as she curtseyed for her imaginary audience. Then, the routine began. She lifted into the air and allowed her body to flow like waves on the ocean. Her hooves moved fluidly and her wings worked to make elegant shapes and keep her afloat in the air.--------
She slowly looked up at the flame colored pegasus. “Misty, you’re gonna do great. Just remember what we practiced.” Misty swallowed a lump of fear and gave her a shaky smile and nod. “I can do it, Cap’n.” That seemed to be enough. Spitfire moved to go speak with Soarin’ about something. Misty exhaled deeply, shaking out her wings like they were her nerves. She could do it. She could do it. She just had to… had to remember what her father told her.--------
Misty flipped higher into the air, pinning her wings against her as the sky and ground whizzed by her vision rapidly. She straightened herself out with a flourish of her front hooves and curled her wings around herself. She corkscrewed downwards and hit the ground, landing in a perfect curtsy.--------
She could do this. Misty put in the work. She blinked as the sound of light rain hit her ears. Rain… That always calmed her down. She found her smile and wore it proudly. She could do this. Misty Fly was a Wonderbolt. Before she knew it, the signal went off and they were launching into the air.--------
Misty smiled as she stood up straight. Yay! Dancing in the rain… Like singing in the rain. Only more dance-y and less lip sync-y. Misty giggled to herself and looked back towards the house to see that her father was watching. ”Have you been watching this whole time?” “I can’t help but watch my little filly. Especially when I’m so proud of her. My Wonderbolt...” She playfully rolled her eyes. ”Daaaaad! I’m not a filly anymore~!” It didn’t stop her from another round of giggles and a skip over to where he was. ”C’mon, I think the rain’s getting harder. I might like it but you won’t like me getting sick.” “You’re right about that… Let’s get you to the fireplace.” Misty bounced her eyebrows at him. "Can we roast marshmallows?" He grinned back at her. "Nope. They're all for me." "Not if I get to them first!" Misty snapped open her wings and took off towards the house.
