High Winds approached the front of her door, breathing heavily as she unlocked it and made her way inside. After her last encounter with Spitfire she'd been motivated to start regular jogging runs in addition to her flight and wing training that she regularly underwent. Originally she'd been going on them somewhat irregularly, anywhere from 2-3 days to 3 weeks between runs, but after finally finding a good time to schedule them as well as pacing herself to her best limit she'd been going on one every day for the past 2 weeks. Now inside the comfort of her home, she tossed off the headband she'd been wearing and removed the special saddle-pack that held her bottle of water. She moved to her bedroom and checked the calendar. Looks like she didn't have anything going on right now: No ponies to meet, no meetings to attend, no patrolling, and no business at the academy, as well as no performances or races scheduled for anytime in the near future. Which meant today was entirely a free day.
She sat down over her bed, then laid back, staring up into her roof. "Huh. I wonder what I should do for today?" Sure, she could try practicing some aerial work, but it's not like she didn't already do that already. Even when she wasn't on duty, she'd often take to the sky at the academy when it wasn't crowded to work on exercises, as well make sure that she didn't get rusty. Nope, today should be something a little different. As she was lost in thought, she started kicking up her hind legs a little. During one of those kicks, one of her backhooves happened to smack a nearby table, knocking some papers and other assorted material off it. "Whoops!" She quickly leaped off and started picking things up, noticing that a couple pictures were among the junk that had fallen down. Looking at one of them, she noticed that it was a snapshot of her and several of the team from their last show in Canterlot; she was standing by Blaze in it.
Come to think of it, she hadn't really checked out Canterlot on her own. While she had visited the city numerous times, it was always with the rest of the 'Bolts during a show or performance. She hadn't really had time to check out of the rest of the city, and the most she'd visited of it that she could properly recollect were the stadium, castle, and the fancy hotels. Maybe it was time to finally change that. "Yeah. Why not?"
Exactly two hours later, after showering and cleaning up her coat and mane, the snow-coated pegasus mare was trotting along the city streets. While her mane was still in its usual curled up style, she'd decided to try something a little different for her off day, parting it down to one side. She saw that several other ponies making their way on the streets, and it seemed like without the traditional blue uniform none of them were recognizing her, especially with her changed up hairstyle. That was a relief. While she was proud of her status as a Wonderbolt and how many ponies, foals especially, looked up to her, it would be a bit more difficult if the crowd happened to realize who she was associated with, especially since this was one of the places the team frequently visited. It was early afternoon right now, so she'd have plenty of time to check around. What do do first? She wasn't hungry, so lunch could wait. Maybe a show, or try one of the shops out? "I wonder if they have a directory here..."
